Why do our biggest rivals get bye weeks or play lower

division opponents before they play us? It seems to be common, we finally caught up with sc (after about 5 years ) and started to do the same thing and now, fsu gets a bye week before the biggest Atlantic division game of the year. What's up with that?

or playing lower level opponents. It's more a matter of what you do with that time from a preparation standpoint.

Tommy Bowden's teams had ample opportunity to prepare for bowl games yet those teams generally performed poorly in bowl games going 3 - 5 during his tenure. I think it is fair to say he and his teams did not make the most effective use of the time they have available to prepare.

Schedules are made years in advance so how is your question even relevant?
Do you know someone who knew ahead of time that this game would be as important as it was?
