The funny part is that no one actually just runs across this stuff. It's found by some triggered person, then they spread it around until it's viewed as being forced on people, but the reality is that the only forcing being done is by the triggereds.

the topic is inserted into just about everything entertainment today. Just watching TV and I counted 3 RuPaul drag commercials, 2 aids commercials discussing homosexual relations, and 1 commercial on erectile disfunction...and I was watching some show clearly targeted to teenage girls...with my teenage girl.
Sorry, but the topic is everywhere...clearly in disproportion to very small % of people who are actually transgendered.
My daughter has 3....3!....kids in one of her classes that have switched genders/become non-gender/etc...15 kids in her math class and 20% of them have switch pro-nouns. That's a real issue in my opinion.

For one, fire public school superintendents and/or principals who support sexual &/or transsexual grooming ‘educational’ programs (either as part of a curriculum or in non-curricular material provided on school property or spoken about / demonstrated by school employees &/or non-school employees) which takes place on school property &/or at non-school property which is rented by the school or granted free use by a non-school entity).
For superintendents and/or principals who had done the above and took the additional step to conceal that activity from the residents of that school district, then incarceration for not less than 1 year would be an additional punishment.
For superintendents and/or principals who also had done the above, and a subsequent action took place in which a student underwent sex reassignment procedures had taken place without prior advance notice to that student’s parents / guardians, then the punishment would be incarceration for a period of not less Han 5 years.
This would be a good start.

of government intervention to stop it. Without taking the time to think of specifics, I would also not want the government doing anything that promotes a mental illness like this.
There is a role for government in terms of public schools.
How to stop it...Not 100% sure. It certainly has to start with people not being afraid to speak out against things they see as dangerous and an overall rejection of the idea that speech is violence.
The dissenting voices on a lot of this stuff have been successfully silenced.

I've not seen a tranny since the mid 90s...on Burbon Street.
I've not ever been asked a pronoun.
I've got 2 kids in HS and another in college. NONE have reported any tranny or pronoun issues.
I've never seen a commercial with a tranny on it or a commercial about ghay people. That said I don't watch commercials.
I HAVE confirmed there were/are no cat litter boxes in our local school system in spite of what a lot of people think or thought to be true.
Everything. And I mean EVERYTHING on these topics I hear are from fox news obsessed far right wingers that have no idea that THEY are the ones giving all this stuff attention.
I'm not saying it doesn't exist, I'm saying that in general the people triggered by this stuff are the ones promoting it the most, and I don't think they realize it nor are capable of coming to grips with this concept.
I DGAF either way. None of this stuff bothers me. People are seeking attention and they are finding it via the triggered parrots.

Sure, they're impressionable, but the BS I see on here about "groomers" or this grand conspiracy by teachers and admin to convert kids is absurd. I get what you're saying about kids, and yes, I do think we see more, but I also think we're seeing some of the fear fading away from these people. I don't think kids can be converted to this, impressionable as they are, nor do I think anyone is trying to. I think more kids are coming out because they feel less scared.
I'm in the camp that this whole stuff IS a mental illness. And that's why those opposed to what's happening need to choose their arguments carefully; it can't be both a mental illness AND an ideology that kids can be converted to. Someone can't convert a kid into depression, schizophrenia, sociopathy, etc.

The manipulated left and right cry wolf WAy too much on social issues, but I see this one differently.
There is a really big shift happening right now and I think it's a very negative shift that could cause long-lasting issues in our society. And we're seeing the impact of "wokeness" (and yes it is a real thing and yes it is a problem) that stifles opposing opinions and debate. The current climate allows these kind of ideas and shifts to proceed unimpeded because many reasonable people are afraid to speak/stand up.

If that's the case I would argue it's because while it can be expected that a show like RuPaul's Drag Race would feature transgender contestants, the show itself is not about the transgender issue but it fully supports the issue. But I'm willing to concede on this example, because...
I'm more curious as to the thinking behind the other examples you listed, "2 aids commercials discussing homosexual relations, and 1 commercial on erectile dysfunction" as examples of how this "transgender issue" is "inserted into just about everything entertainment today." I get the argument that those shouldn't play during shows targeted to teenagers, but I don't see how they're connected to the issue of transgenderism?

Just watching TV and I counted 3 RuPaul drag commercials, 2 aids commercials discussing homosexual relations, and 1 commercial on erectile disfunction...and I was watching some show clearly targeted to teenage girls...with my teenage girl.
Sorry, but the topic is everywhere...clearly in disproportion to very small % of people who are actually transgendered.
My daughter has 3....3!....kids in one of her classes that have switched genders/become non-gender/etc...15 kids in her math class and 20% of them have switch pro-nouns. That's a real issue in my opinion."
You can see how I'd think you were connecting those commercials with the issue of transgenderism, right? It's fine if that's not what you meant to do and I'd agree those commercials are odd to be marketed to teenagers (especially the erectile dysfunction commercial) if that was what you actually meant. But it certainly reads like you're connecting it to the lone issue of transgenderism.
As for why those commercials are shown, I'm guessing market research shows adults are watching those shows even if they are meant for teenagers which may be its own (problematic?) issue.

on the things others freak out about, and then think it's super common, everyday stuff, that isn't. Pretty soon they lose complete touch with reality and storm the Capital and pass laws under the guise of addressing a serious problem that actually only applies to 2-3% of the population. This way discrimination is legitimized and validated. And the spiral continues.
It's no different than leftists of years past. Same disease. They think everyone is racist, and see the exceptions on social media, and then riot, or pass bad laws. Same machine functioning though.

When an unhealthy social trend grows that has children and teenagers among those included in that trend, outrage by conservatives is amplified vs other unhealthy social trends.
America needs to remain ever vigilant in its moral imperative to protect children and teens from evil adults.
I am glad that CharlestonTom takes this moral imperative seriously.

I think that much of it is cultural conservatism in which they were raised. Probably discouraged from discussing sexuality. They feel some strange attractions that were not prepared to deal with. Find themselves quietly attracted to a tranny on TV. Well, it isn't their fault, it is because the tranny is on TV! It's why a disproportionate number of conservative politicos seem to get caught in compromising situations with men. Their public hatred of gays and trannies is simply an expression of their own self-hatred. I doubt the tranny-obsessed Tnet MAGAts are much different. The objections to transition therapy... well, a few of them probably resent that they didn't know about it when they were younger. The childhood neurosis leads to adult psychosis. Robyn Hitchcock called it!

The OP was about a "build-a-queer" kit. Your news article is about trans kids having a prom.
Yes, my kid (who is now out of college, so less of a kid) knew trans kids in school, but there was no concern about a "build-a-queer" kit or similar outrage about apparent nonsense. Similarly, I found out about the Bud Light and Adidas things here on Tnet.
I also should not have said that I'm hearing all these things from "conservatives," because that's not fair to normal politically conservative people who aren't fixated on this issue. The people obsessed with the issue seem to be, by and large, conspiracy theorists and Trumpers with few genuine conservative principles.

So the nuanced point maybe is the conspiracy part. I don't think it's a conspiracy per se, but rather a quick cultural shift, in many cases, being pushed by folks with a "woke" mindset that is akin to political/intellectual terrorism...where reasonable debate is not allowed.

I understand the concern you're expressing and I agree it makes sense to question new cultural issues like this as they arise.
From my vantage point, the issue isn't actually that new. My kid had trans friends in high school and she's been out of college for a couple years.

measurable shift over the last ~5yrs or so.
I have the impression that the topic is being forced into a lot of entertainment/media (would take me some time to put forth good examples past others I've posted on here recently).
And the changes at the universities in term of freedom of expression of differing opinions is pretty scary, frankly. And, of course, that's not just a trans issue.
There is an underlying current of topics and new "words" that have been inserted "un-naturally" that falls under "wokism" that is a real issue. It just can't be dismissed as MAGA talking points.
We have a good number of friends and acquaintances that work in education and they all seem to share the same stories in terms of the shift over the last 2-3 yrs that line up exactly with I hear from my kids. As I shared last week...in my daughter's math class of 15 students, 3 of them have now changed their pronouns. One of them proudly touts her (err his) taking of hormone therapy to start the transitioning process. And her story is not an outlier.
