Long term I'm not sure right now. Trevor is still young, but no doubt in my mind that if Watson would have played against LSU, Clemson would be national champions right now. Lawrence just played scared it seemed like and never really gave his receivers a chance.

LSU did a great job of forcing Lawrence to throw off his front foot while made him throw high, likely you will not see that again.

while Trevor is so confident inside..
and I “might” agree he might have been a bit uptight heading into the lsu game, and when JoeB lit it up with dime after dime passes it seemed Trevor tried too hard (12+ overthrown balls).
Love ‘em both and TL16 has 1-2 more yrs to add to his fabulous 44-16 Alabama dethronement.

The argument could go on forever. Watson won the natty on his 2nd trip
and Trevor on his 1st trip. Trevor has broken a bunch of Watson records
in ga. and at Clemson. Watson showed his grit when he played with a bum
knee and beat the coots and also the last drive-in his Natty win. I love
them both so I won't pick who is the better QB until Trevor goes pro.
What's better, ham and eggs or eggs and ham?

I believe Trevor has more talent as a passer. Deshaun was a better leader and knew how to win. Of course, Trevor has another year and could ultimately be better.

If someone argued we would have beaten LSU if DW4 played, I'm good with that for several reasons.
Trevor didn't play as well as I expected last year, particularly against LSU. I think he will go next level in 2020 and end up a better passer than DW4.
As far as the NFL, some people still don't realize how good DW4 is and how much of a millstone BOB is around his neck. I'm not ready to say Trevor will be as good in the NFL. He certainly has the potential to be.

Based on experience, big game performance and leadership. Neither QB has peaked IMHO.
They share a similarity in that TL16 could not measure up to Joe Burrow in championship game (maybe a 1st), and DW4 could not measure up to a when-healthy Mahomes most of 2019.
Both are already great QB's and both are works in progress. Who wants it more? Who will put in the most work to improve, bond with teammates, and lead? Hard to say. But pulling hard for both of them.

The receivers never broke away from coverage much this year. Trevor had to thread the needle more often than not. I don't know why.
