Anthony Simmons should be on every list. We've had lots of great LBs but he was an athletic freak.

that's a solid list. Keith Adams was fun to watch. He played so much larger than his frame, more so than any other "undersized" player that I can think of. I would lock in on him and watch him every play.

Tough question! Jeff Davis, Anthony Simmons and Isaiah Simmons for me. Honorable mention Keith Adams, Levon Kirkland and John Johnson.

McDaniel is most underrated of Clemson LBs. On a team full of studs, he lead in tackles multiple years. Most don't even know that he went to the Pro Bowl with the Vikings.

Kirkland, Anthony Simmons, and Jeff Davis for me.
Isaiah Simmons was awesome, but watching guys as a 8-20 year old is different from watching guys as a 40 year old. The guys from my youth will always be better (in my mind) than the guys from my adulthood. That's why the Jordan/Lebron argument is silly to me. Jordan was The Man, Lebron is A Man.

too many great ones, many of whom had a unique skillset in one way or another. One that really played much bigger than his size, for example, was Keith Adams.

Lots a great names thrown out there. Andy Headen and Bubba Brown were great ones too. Headen had a great career on that legendary Giants D of the 80s.

I'm not going to say "to ever play at Clemson", given I was late to the Clemson party and only started following CU when I got accepted in December 2010 (freshman year was 2011-2012). I wasn't around for Davis or some of the GOAT guys back in the Ford days, so I'm not gonna include them.
Since my freshman year at Clemson:
Stephone Anthony
Spencer Shuey
Dorian O'Daniel (later years)
Ben Boulware
Tre Lamar
James Skalski
I put Simmons in a world of his own since nobody is as versatile as him, given he could go up on the line and drop back in SS coverage. I think Simpson might be the closest we have to Simmons on roster right now, and I think he's gonna be a first three rounds guy too, if he stays healthy.

Any of the linebackers from ‘89 until the mid 90s we’re studs, throw Jeff Davis in there, any order would be unbelievable! Kinda partial to Kirkland, McDaniel, Brewster, Bussie, O’Brien and Johnson, guys were freaks.

Yeah, they predate my time by a good bit. I was born in 1992, and predominantly followed NFL/Michigan State/Notre Dame (dad's a devout Catholic and a huge ND fan) before I got into Clemson in December 2010. I wish I had followed the team/school, but they weren't even on my radar until my fam moved to Charlotte.
I know enough from hearing around about guys like Davis and the others, but since I wasn't around to watch it and highlight videos from those days are potato quality, I'm not gonna even try and talk intelligently about that era.
I hit the jackpot with my Clemson tenure: with my freshman year being 2011, every single season I've followed Clemson, we've won 10 games or more. On top of that, we can pretty much point to 2011 as the beginning of this current run that we're enjoying under Swinney.
I was a student mostly during the "good but not great" period, 2011-2014. It was frustrating to lose to FSU or SCar every year during that stretch, but I knew after DW signed that we'd make further steps. I did not dream of us beating Bama in the final once, let alone twice. Everything after the first Natty is gravy to me. All I really want to see is potentially a Heisman winner, but I don't think that's likely under Swinney given his focus on the team and team trophies. He'll pull any Heisman candidate early and put the benchwarmers in. If ETN and Sunshine couldn't win it with their stats and performance, I doubt we'll see one under Swinney. We don't focus enough on individual players in that way to do what's needed to win one. Which I'm kinda okay with, as I'd rather win Natty's than Heismans.
