The best approach is to decorate the house for "fall"

On November 1, all "halloween" related decorations come down and the rest of the fall stuff stays up. First weekend of December, all fall goes away and Christmas goes up. First weekend in January, Christmas comes down and we return to normal programming of "white woman just got back from Home Goods"

Takes down Halloween Nov 1 and immediate puts up the inflatable Santa Claus like Thanksgiving doesn't even exist. It makes me sick. I've been searching for a way to unfriend them for at least a year. Maybe I will invite her over for a 3some and it will scare them off or she says yes and we have a good time. Win/win situation.

You could also rip a hole in their inflatable Santa.

least the first weekend of December or later. That's when all of the other decorations start going up, too. Yard & outdoor stuff usually the next weekend after that.
Pretty much only exception was the advent wreath which we have to dig out Dec 1.

Wife can watch Hallmark Christmas movies whenever they start, but the #### decorations stay in boxes until AFTER Thanksgiving. Same for tree and everything.

if it were up to me, I wouldn't put them up at all. The Mrs. will usually break down and do it all a week or so after Thanksgiving. That said, I do leave Halloween decorations up all year.

my Christmas tree stays up year round

it's a little leyland cypress tree growing in the backyard. I didn't plant it, it just popped up there. Looked pretty cool, so I've just let it grow.
I never decorate it though. I have trimmed it up a little bit a couple times. I suppose I could put a string of lights on it if I ever had the notion. So far, nah. But anybody that comes over to my house and asks where my Christmas tree is, that's the one I point to.
I would suggest this option to everyone. Trees aren't naturally meant to be inside a house.
