The truth is that we might suffer a bit from sanctions but we are the EU's biggest trade partner. They don't have anything we can't produce.

The truth is that we might suffer a bit from sanctions but we are the EU's biggest trade partner. They don't have anything we can't produce.
The EU is the largest consumer of things we do make.
In addition, the EU's mechanical engineering exports are our fine state and University's bread and butter. In case you forget yourself at the polls again and decide to vote for another inept idiot:

You realize the tariffs ended before you posted, right? The agreement was to work toward no tariffs or taxes from either partner on everything but autos and the EU would purchase soybean and LNG immediately. That means we can buy EU goods cheaper and sell them soybean and liquid natural gas. That means we cut into Russia' #1 and only valuable export, petro products.
China jerked DJT when they hit our soybean imports to China. Not much harm was done because our tariffs didn't last long.
The sky isn't falling. Trump imposed trade restrictions on EU to get them to the table.

We'll have to see what happens, but avoiding a global trade war seems like a good thing.
