Lee

Jun 13, 2015, 6:19 PM

Keep seeing everyone calling him a Gamecock. He is an Upstate native and Charleston alum. He worked for five years at Chickenville. So that makes him a Gamecock?
I don't get that.
Anyway, if we can turn around this program, it shouldn't matter.

He was BORN in Spartanburg. That's how you determine where someone is a native of. Not where they played high school baseball.

People seem to forget that Tommy West

Jun 13, 2015, 6:30 PM

coached at SC before booming our head football coach.

Brad Scott was the #### head Gamecock and now his son is our #1 recruiter.

The guys in these professions are there for a reason. They win regardless of where the graduated or worked for a period of time.

If Lee comes to Clemson, he will come 100% committed to the Tigers

Re: Lee

I agree. How do we know Lee doesn't feel slighted by SCAR for not going after him and instead Holbrook? How do we know that he has some deep seeded love for SCAR? I would imagine this guy is ready for a big opportunity. An opportunity that gives him the resources to truly compete for a CWS. I know, I know. We're still working on competing in tuition, but it seems as we are finally making ground there.

The reason I really like Lee is because of the trouble he has given big programs in the tournament. He seems to instill a confidence in his players that could win the whole thing. We have never had that much of a problem making it to the CWS, our problem has been playing to our full potential and beyond when we get there. Lee may have the best resume in that regard of them all. What he did at the Gainesville regional a few years back is as good as it gets in regards to playing with confidence in the postseason.

Give me Lee!

Smed's point is perfectly related to what I was trying to express about Monte Lee as a coach a couple of days ago.

For those who didn't see it, here's what I wrote:

"My son played for Coach Lee relatively early in his coaching career. At the time, he was an assistant at Spartanburg Methodist; and, during the summer, he was the Head Coach of the Diamond Devils's 17-U team. It was with the Diamond Devils that my son played for him.

Based on that experience, I consider Coach Lee a gifted coach; someone who had clearly "found his calling." He's the sort of coach that inspires intense loyalty among his players; the sort that they'll "walk through walls for."

Over the course of a baseball career that included the ACC, Cape Cod Baseball League, and professional baseball, my son had the good fortune of playing for a number of exceptional coaches. He considers Coach Lee among the very best he had at any time."

^^^^^^This is golden. Thx for sharing. Hope he's announced soon. ??????

It's not hard to tell a good leader when you pay attention to the right things. RCW got to have an up close look at Lee. His son played for him and obviously was a well accomplished player. This is the guy folks. Hope we finish the deal with him. From all accounts, sounds like we will. Go Tigers!
