hiring Tommy West with a losing and very short coaching record and firing Hatfield after he just beat the coots for yet another win. I know it's popular to hate on Hatfield but I liked the guy.
Now he ran a boring, vanilla offense but I thought he recruited pretty well, especially with some so called fans working against him.
He had one heckuva defense and special teams and played well enough on offense to win.
I know he was far from perfect and he didn't do much at Rice but who does?
He was a good coach at Arkansas and Clemson
