It really has come down to this.

Bunch of Clemson "Men" talking like 13-1 is a BAD Year. What? It's mind boggling to know it's not all trolling either. But actual serious Clemson fans, some of who were here during the REAL factual dark days of Clemson are out for blood of this staff AND student athletes. Staff I get because they are grown adults in a chosen profession. Improvements have been made from a year ago. This is not that same team. If you don't see it and records don't speak for themselves then be a miserable fan.

As I've stated re-evaluations during the offseason makes sense every year. And I hope we come in stronger next year and the year after and so on and so forth.

hard to accept 13-1 as anything but a total failure and good reason to clean house.

You just have to understand human nature is like that.

I think the issue is we are barely beating the teams we are playing in a lot of these games. Yes back in the day all that matter was winning the game. A one point win is a win. Unfortunately that's not how it works today. For example, Clemson and Tennessee are both 9-1. Yet Tennessee is #5. And if we win out, we will be 12-1 while Tennessee is only 11-1 with no championship. Yet Tennessee will likely make the playoffs while we won't. Is that fair? I don't think so but thats the world we are living in. Why, because we are winning games 26-21 while they are beating teams 66-20 something. The eye test means everything these days. I don't like it but it's the way it is. Also most of the national media keeps saying we are overrated. And I guess people are tired of hearing that. I think we are better than people think but I would be concerned if we had to play another top ten team.

Actually, you make some good points. I've expressed my

belief, contrary to others, that points are important.

That goes back to the age-old AP polls, and why coaches like ole Switzer at Oklahoma used to like to run up scores (something he admitted years ago:) because of the way the pollsters vote.

Secondly, we celebrate our wins, but several have been lackluster, kind of like by the skin of our teeth. That is precisely why I think there is a perception nationally that we aren't CFP material this year...a perception shared by many of our friends here on TNet.

I can't imagine any of us not be excited over our wins. It's just that we'd prefer at least an occasional one, here or there, to be of the non-heart-attack variety! lol

There is zero proof this is not how it works today. We have made multiple playoffs with one loss and no P5 conference champion with 1 loss has been left out. Until conference champions are factored in you are only making uneducated guesses not based on history. Likely when conference champions are factored in it won’t matter because teams will have 2 losses.

13 - 1 is not what people are complaining about. Its the way we got to that record. Ugly footballis hard to watch, but definitely easier to take with a W at the end.

If ugly football was really hard to watch then college football would not be popular - because it is mostly ugly.

Link to where we were unanimously picked to win the CFP this year? I recall many people talking about how we would likely have some growing pains with the new coordinators, and that our offenses struggles from last year would likely carry over.

I think most people gave us a chance to MAKE the playoff, due to "how bad the ACC is", but I feel Bama, UGA & Ohio St. were all given much higher odds to win it all, pretty much across the board.

This is the last time I will try and TELL you bone-heads:
We CANNOT have a record of 13-1 unless we boycott the CFP Finals

Not getting selected for the playoffs and winning a bowl game puts us at 13-1.

The only issue I've had with this season is there has been minimal progression on offense. That's a worry. Season is far from a failure though, it's a dang good season. Dabo isn't wrong when he says it's hard to win. The main complaint is the team could be destroying the opponents if they played well for more than 12 minutes a game on offense.
