I read recently that Va Tech and K-State are the only 2 major schools without a team natty in either a men's or women's sport. Miss. St. got off the list at Omaha last year.

And Ole Miss got off the list with a recent womens golf national title.

From a Hokie, the coaches have a lot to do with it. Szefc (baseball coach) came in 5 years ago and has been building it ever since. It took time, but these kids have bought in 100%, and enjoy playing the game together. Every coach wants his players to "buy in", but few succeed at it in any sport. Dabo is a good example of one who got his entire team on the same wavelength, and your current run is the result of it.

I am not comparing him to Dabo in any way, but VT's baseball coach seems to have done the same thing. Not sure on the softball side, but the coach obviously has a lot to do with it. And like someone said below, Keely Rochard and Emma Lemle could make anyone look good coaching them.
