Dabo Swinney Football Camp - Youth

Mar 16, 2015, 9:43 AM

Wanted to get some feedback from anyone who has sent their son to the Youth football camp. My son will be going into 2nd grade next year, and I didn't know if that is too young to participate, even though they have that as acceptable age.
Thoughts? Experiences?

Amazing first class camp. The coaches and former players meet with the kids from the time you bring them there to the moment you leave..Vance Hammond, Woody, Keith Adams, Perry Tuttle..All the greats work one on one with the kids, along with the entire coaching staff the entire time. No photo ops then they leave.

As far as the instruction my son learned a ton there and they get age appropriate instruction. Main thing is they have fun. At his age he can still learn. The big things they teach is to listen to the coaches, hard work and having fun.

Was really neat a few years ago when my son attended because Dana White, MMA owner had a kid there. Saw him buying a ton of Clemson gear. That along with Boyd and Watkins throwing to the kids won my son over.

I couldn't agree more....

Even if your kid decides to never strap on the pads, this camp is phenomenal in the character traits they preach! Outstanding!!!!

Send him! Whether he likes football or not he will love it. He will learn way more than football. I know he's a young kid but he'll learn responsibility, team work, respect and much more. It's not a rah-rah, everybody is a winner type camp. The former players are not just guys who show up to be seen they actually work! The camp has more and more attendees each year. The best part, beginning in 2014 the NCAA allowed players to work a "job" to be paid. That "job" is working the football camp. My son was very fortunate last year to work with Vic Beasley and Grady Jarrett. No disrespect to Coach Brooks and others but when Vic or Grady walks out there it fires those kids up!!

Send him. Don't think twice.

Since 3rd grade. No problems. I drop him off on Friday and pick up on Sunday.

Geville Tiger on Clemson football , "Dabo's only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”

"I've been working since I was 15 continually until now. I worked 40 hours a week at 15, when it wasn't even legal for 15 year olds to work that many hours."

He didn't offer because he was concerned we would be in the Big12 by then.
