2023 Starting OL
LT Triston Leigh 317 (315)

In 2023 nearly all of our starting OL lost weight coming into camp for a total of -28 to -47lb depending on LT. Our 2023 OL was terrible.
2024 Starting OL

This year only Blake Miller added weight. Total net of -20lb......Hope this doesn't spell the same thing as last year where our line gets manhandled every game.

It means these guys have been working this summer, and last summer they were not. When we had our championship runs, our Oline was in superior condition and we always won the fourth quarter.

It is dictated by what the OC wants combined with OL coach. If you recall when Chad Morris came in all our OL had to lose weight because of Up-Tempo, more plays per game and a lot more motion. Riley runs somewhat similar offense as we had the highest # of plays per game last year since Morris was here. I think we averaged 81.7 per game which was a big jump.

I remember Tommy Bowden and Rich Rodriguez liked smaller OLs.

When they got here, they had some of our guys lose considerable weight to get down to 260-280. They felt that the lighter OLs moved better and could handle a faster-paced offense better.

they ran off most of West's Oloineman for being fatties, and we were barely able to field 5 guys in 1999.

I mentioned this last night too. I’m hoping it is to help them with their first step and quickness. I remember a lot of times last year seeing defenders blow right past our OL at the snap before our guys even got their feet set.
