What will our record be after first six games?
Jun 6, 2014, 6:49 PM
|
|
Looking at our schedule for next season and the first six games look to be by far the toughest stretch to me so was wondering what most think our record will look like after these first six. I think we could be 5-1 or 4-2 but I also think UNC and Louisville could be tough for us.
Date - Opponent Aug. 30 - at Georgia Sept. 6 - SOUTH CAROLINA STATE Sept. 20 - at Florida State Sept. 27 - NORTH CAROLINA Oct. 4 - NC STATE Oct. 11 - LOUISVILLE
Next 6
Oct. 18 - at Boston College Oct. 25 - SYRACUSE Nov. 6 - #at Wake Forest Nov. 15 - at Georgia Tech Nov. 22 - GEORGIA STATE Nov. 29 - SOUTH CAROLINA

I'm in agreement with Solos. If our defense is as good as we think they're going to be, they will keep us in every game. I think that 24 points will when every game for us. Now go kick ### defense.

anywhere from 4-2 to 2-4 IMO. 4-2 most likely with the home games, but 3-3 not far behind.

It's awful. What a shame to go through life being pessimistic about everything. I feel sorry for you, and those who have to deal with you daily.

winning all 6 isn't unreasonable. it is, however, very unlikely. When making a prediction, I don't go with unlikely.
Likely scenario is that we lose at FSU (most likely loss of those 6) and lose 1 of the other games bwtween UGA, UNC, Louis, and State - in that descending order of likeliness.
If I knew we would run the ball first and play defense, I would eliminate 2-4 from possibility. Again, we both know dropping 4/5 tough games isn't likely, but neither is going to Tally and winning (6-0).

you are aware that fsu beat us like a red headed step child here in our own house and won the nc last year are you not? you also realize we go to tally this year right? this is not a gt situation where they come here two years in a row. did anyone tell you the players we lost? one last answer to you question, do the people of your church allow you to gamble with their money? I hope that answers your question about being unrealistic and overly optimistic.

No reason to think anything less than 6-0 at this point

The moment you put an "L" next to any of those games before the final gun, you're committing yourself to a loss. I decline to do so, and I firmly believe the guys will decline as well.

if we were having this discussion inside of Jervey or the CUFB offices or the locker room - then I would agree. But, the sentiments of fans does not win/lose games.
I guess we all thought we would lose to SC the past 5 years, huh? Maybe the fans just didn't want to beat them bad enough! What a joke.

Perhaps we'll agree to disagree...
Jun 7, 2014, 7:42 AM
|
|
...but I cannot believe that our heart has nothing to do with the game on the field. If that's the case, why cast your lot with any team at all ... unless you have money on the outcome?
What we as fans feel does indeed factor into the outcome. Competitors since Elijah took out the 450 prophets of Baal have cited the crowd and its impact. The guys who play for Clemson talk without ceasing about the fans and how we provide that spark to play a step higher.
We don't win or lose games? I contend that the dynamic at Clemson has proven that games may not always be won ... but when they are, the crowd earned the right to gather at the paw and share in the victory.
The fan who isn't willing to put his heart into the team, who says "what we do doesn't matter" is a fn that will never know just how special it is to be a true son of Clemson.
And more's the pity for him.

start 6-0. I'm not so whatever i feel will have absolutely no impact on our actual record at all so I am free to predict 4-2 with no consequences aside from a few thumbs down from the pumpers who have nothing better to do than down vote other Clemson fans for giving an honest and realistic opinion.

We're gonna start by embarrassing UGA, and by

association, the rest of the SEC. Then we will go on to give our guys some good practice with SC State. After that, our D will proceed to exact revenge on FSU and deflate Mr. Crabs ego. Beastly will introduce Mr. Crabs to his own turf. UNC will then be shown how to properly run a HUNH offense. NC State will the proceed to be beaten like the mangy pups they are.
Then comes Louisville...we'll give them a proper introduction to the ACC and start our yearly meetings off with a W...

See, what you do is hold up all your fingers to represent the total number of games we play, and then you take away the percentage that 6 games constitutes and then divide that by the standard deviation between the 3rd game the ranked opponents we play.
Now isn't that intutive?

not going to....just can't imagine losing to a qb who has never started a game in his college career...... especially on the road in sanford stadium. Pruitt isn't going to allow Stoudt any measure of comfort. i think it's safe to say your entire offensive game plan rests on his shoulders.
