What is your IPTAY level and where are your seats?

Feb 2, 2015, 4:24 PM

Curious to see the correlation b/t donation level and seat locations.

$2400, whatever level that is. I can never seem to remember.

Six seats together in the lower section near the visiting fans section.

I've given for 8 years at the "IPTAY" level ($2800). I had 2-4-4 in lower South stands for 6 years but needed all 6 together in 2013. I now have 6 together in lower North stands section T near visitors. I gave $3300 ($550 per seat) in 2013 in order to meet my requested section equity fee.

Given the temporary parking relocation due to the LJC construction in 2015, it looks like I will have to increase to next level in order to keep my RV space. Hopefully, I can relocate to better seats at this level.

$400 level, Top Deck South around the 40 yd line in non-priority seats. I paid more to try to get IPTAY seats a couple years ago, but these are what I ended up with and I actually like 'em; great view of the game as well as the lake and mountains. Folks 2 rows below me pay I think $190/seat.

Is how long you have been giving and thus hold long you have had your tickets and/or requested upgrades.

There are several factors besides current donation level. Years contributing and others, I believe

Couple different numbers to keep in mind: for renewals, your donation level has to meet a minimum per seat (according to the seat equity chart on the IPTAY site) to maintain your seats. The minimum doesn't work for new purchases. For new tickets, your points and current year donation determine where those seats can be. From there you would have to donate the minimum per seat based on the aforementioned chart, which increases slightly every five years, in order to renew your tickets. By the chart you can see that your ongoing donation could decrease, but that might affect parking, which may or may not matter to you.

I recently had a long talk with one of the ladies in the iptay office about how it all works, I'm glad this thread was started bc I didn't believe the numbers she was throwing at me.

First: I'm a young alumni so I get a discount but it decreases each for my first 4 years out of college- year 1) 90% discount 2)75% 3)50% 4)25% or somewhere along those lines. The catch here though is it is only to the $1200 donation range- there for year one you give $120 it puts you in that level but donating $200 does not put you in the $2000 level- you must pay the difference so with this example you must give $920 to get in the $2000 level. This is really cool. I did not know about it. I donate a few hundred bucks to the regular iptay scholarship fund and did get very good seats. I will certainly be taking advantage of it this year.

Secondly I asked the lady what the average donation to guarantee lower deck and she explained how it's difficult to tell bc it changes year to year but she told me last year was $4600. I thought that seemed pretty high. Especially when she told me not everyone in that iptay level got lower deck- it then came down the priority points.

She then explained the priority points system to me. Then basically told me to be patient. Keep donating and eventually I'll get those lower deck tickets I want. She made a good point, when she told me you don't see too many 20 something years olds with season tickets down there for a reason.

I'm just impatient and was spoiled growing up as one of my buddies growing up sat right on the 45 and I was lucky enough to be invited to most games.

I'll prob just try and buy season tickets off someone this year in the lower deck.

I'm just donating and not getting seats. Also not going to pay market price after dropping so much on IPTAY with no seats. So I wind up not going to many games.
