When you make one little change in your direct reports.

I want to know his perspective on how the Leggett situation

Jan 14, 2022, 9:38 AM

was handled. I'm still horrified by how that went down.

Hopefully he didn't take away any lessons from that.

What is the Leggett situation? Sounds like "bad" Mojo?

Jan 14, 2022, 9:57 AM

Why bring that up? Former BB coach?

Having a rookie AD give DAbo Swinney a vote of confidence is jarring,

I wouldn't exactly characterize GN as a "rookie".

Neff did the day to day business of the athletic department and was a major reason for a lot of our successes. He did a lot to help out the social media campaign that made us one of the top tier social media presences in college athletics.

If we call a spade a spade, D-Rad was little other than a glorified fundraiser. His talent was squeezing boosters for cash. Neff did most of the work keeping the department together. It's clear D-Rad's personnel management was lacking and who knows how much D-Rad actually listened to Neff. Everyone I knew that worked for the department while I was in school (2011-16) told me that Neff was actually the one doing most of the work.

I'm pretty confident in Neff to make the right decisions. I don't think the school board would have voted to promote him if he wasn't good at what he did. I think he'll handle both basketball and baseball fine.

My thoughts on this and many other posts of criticisms of Clemson athletics as expresssd by Abraham Lincoln and/or Mark Twain:

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt.

ain't it always the way. DRad no more than exited stage right than some of us realize we never liked him much anyway.

Radikovich had some great achievements and frankly, if he was doing his job then Neff should have been doing the heavy lifting,. Whats the point of being the boss if you have to do all the work?

I am impressed with this guy. One-he’s older than I thought. I get it. I was a baby faced 40 as well. It made older men jealous. I wasn’t taken as seriously as I should have been at times. Two-he has been groomed for this role for a decade. Three-he gets the expectations at Clemson. Four-he’s part of the family.
Congratulations! Build us a juggernaut in ALL sports!
