For our numerous members who’d rather go to a New Years-6 instead of competing for a Championship

Although it is indeed another harbinger of Western Civilization’s decline, I appreciate so many of you losers in life recently coming forward and identifying yourselves.
Even though we’re talking about a game, the cowardice you display here will follow you thru life touching every aspect of your pathetic existences.
You will not achieve as much, do as much, try as much, or fail as much, never reaching your potential. It’ll be a mystery for many of you as to why.
Claiming some sort of victim status will be the feckless retort for most of you.
And the perfect symmetry of this is that you’ll get the life you’ve truly earned and deserve, and when we all see your logon name, we’ll remember the type of persons you truly are, and discount your poasts accordingly.
Oh, and yes, I am the ghost of Christmas’ future for you.

shying away from the playoffs are overstating the risk.
We have seen all the top teams struggle against unranked opponents. Nobody is an unstoppable juggernaut and I'd be thrilled if our team had a chance to try to put together the full four quarters we know they have in them against a playoff opponent.

Absolutely!! With UT going down...

We are in a prime spot to not only make it to the CFP, but to win it! We own the coots, and lowly GT exposed UNC. At 12-1 we should be the choice for the four-seed. Ohio State ain't what they have been in recent years; Maryland had them on the ropes. And UGA hasn't look invincible again teams with a pulse.
The Tigers are peaking at the right time. DJU showed the grit to come back and finish against Louisville and Miami after a bad game at Notre Dame, and he's proven that he is ready to make that next step in this offense. The Tigers are DEFINITELY the team with the momentum at this point, and I believe Dabo will get them playing at their peak potential in championship phase.
One thing is for sure - nobody wants to play the Tigers right now.

He has proven many times he can't and the one time that he could lasted only one half of a ball game. This Saturday, if he romps and stomps like we saw in the first half last Sat I will have more confidence in him.
DJ still has some dragons to slay. I hope he draws the bow back and lances his issues.

The comment about GA is not correct. GA has played well against the good teams on their schedule. They played poorly against KY, MO and KState. All teams that could not beat them while they played the D and C game.

Some are intimidated by a beautiful woman - if you've never heard "no", then you're not asking the right questions.
No is a perfectly good answer and nothing to fear.

I’m not going to play the back and forth with you. Your worth a few typed bits of data and that’s it.
You create an account. You don’t know how to express yourself, so you get yourself banned. You make another account. Rinse and repeat. You’ve done this countless times, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Add pretending you go to games, pretending to see our “poor” stadium atmosphere, and on and on.
You’re just not a person who anyone other than someone like you takes seriously, so don’t expect to be regarded that way.

LOL, well that is a huge, steaming pile of over-analysis . .
Nov 21, 2022, 10:03 AM

the fact that someone has some discernment about sports competitiveness and wants their team not to get embarrassed playing for a national title they won't win, doesn't even come close to reflecting much about their own life's trajectory, lol.
On the other hand, getting so worked up and ascerbic over those who would prefer a NY6 Bowl, especially when they've seen the offensive staff play so doggedly and unnecessarily close to the vest for so long, and have good **reason** for this opinion, does show a market lack of perspective, maturity, and discernment.
If Clemson makes the four, then I won't lose any sleep over a possible embarrassing loss, even though I will expect it as probable (not certain). I'll take the silver lining of the opportunity and cheer for them and hope for an unlikely result. But given the choice, given what I know at this juncture, I think the other option is preferable. It's got zero to do with being averse to competition or risk at all, it's just the upshot of assessing the risk to be almost certain, and not simply probable. Calm it.

Nov 21, 2022, 2:50 PM

What IF we went in as a 4 seed? We'd play UhGA. What IF we lost to UGA and finished 12-2? We'd have to carry that negativity and go through an entire off-season listening to UhGA fans and national media talk crap about us? Then we'd have to battle the talking heads and opponents in recruiting efforts.
So you'd rather do that than go to NY6 bowl and win the last game of the year vs a top-10 opponent, then carry all that positive momentum into the off-season and recruiting?
Point is, I don't think it's as simple as just wanting to get in regardless of outcome.

The Orange Bowl is definitely a consolation prize this year. Winning the Orange Bowl is not better than losing in the CFP.
Hard to complain too much if we manage to end up in Miami for a great bowl, game, but the goal should always be CFP even if we end up losing in the opening game, and yes ... even if we lose badly.

Whether it's life or sports, you learn and grow from failure. What's worse, a loss in the CFP or a loss in a NY6 Bowl? There are no guarantees to win in either game. A player would prefer winning but if there is a loss, I believe they would prefer losing in a CFP game.
Ask the players their goals and today they'll say beat Uof7C (win the state), next week they will say beat UNC (win the conference), and if both the next 2 games are wins, then Sunday December 4th they will all be sitting in front of TVs waiting to hear Clemson called in the CFP Top 4. Do you think there will be any disappointment if it doesn't happen?
The players compete and aren't looking for an easy way out. By getting there, they're in the final 4 and one of the best of the best. If it ends in a loss, then they know where they stand and understand what's needed in the off season. That's when setting the bar higher and working to get to that next level is achieved.
Just who do you Snowflakes want to play in a non-CFP Bowl that will guarantee a Tiger victory? Bama is lined up for the Orange Bowl. I guess you believe that one is a "cupcake" game.
