Looks like too much of "mommy's happy juice". Hopefully this is a wake-up call and she gets some help. Hate to see this happen to folks. Addiction is a family destroyer and life ruin-er, I hate it.

Exactly. I just want her to get help. Evidently, she has been staying in the Winston-Salem area. If she needs a place to stay, I have an extra bedroom.

She has been to rehab since then and supposedly has a podcast now and is turning her life around. She supposedly is really open about it and turning the corner.

Is Hope homeless now? I know her dad was. She was from an absolutely messed-up situation, her dad would come and see her at her soccer games from where he'd live in the woods. He was an alcoholic and mentally ill, and she'd scrounge and bring him Macaroni and Cheese and whatnot to feed him...really kind of a tragic situation.
She really focused that crazy though, made it work for her. The woman would absolutely kill herself to win, was OCD about film work and knew player tendencies like multiplication tables, was undeniably the greatest US soccer player at any position of either gender, like, ever...I remember her playing head games with the Germans in the 2015 World Cup, absolutely psyched the Germans' best striker out, and some of the saves that woman made...well.
My guess is she couldn't outrun her genes, and isn't doing well outside the game.

Why is it still a sad situation? She went to rehab. She isn't homeless. She is doing fine financially. She is working on herself now.

She was making $500K+ contracts as a player even back before the ladies forced through a settlement - which they should have, the women do all the winning for US Soccer - and I do know google has her net worth listed at anywhere from $3 million to $7+ million depending on source.
People blow fortunes like that all the time, but it'd still be a little surprising if she herself was homeless. Like I said, I know her dad was...maybe that's where the OP erred.

I don't know if she is homeless. I guess I assumed she was because she was sleeping in a Wal-mart parking lot on her SUV but maybe she was sleeping off her drunk with her kids. Either way, alcoholism is serious and I truly hope that she has received help and she is doing better.
