Eggselent poast. I think it can come in softball. Baseball is a tough one. Softball won’t have to contend as much with hs draft and there’s a lot of young women who want to come to clemson and play softball but couldn’t.

It’s big around here. Loads of local talent and it’s fun. Who would have ever predicted that fla st would win softball before baseball with a legend coach.

I agree and wouldn't be surprised if it is SB first...

You are correct about the talent pool. Upstate and Lowcountry have some amazing athletes many who would love to go to Clemson to play but have not had that opportunity until now.

Having (3) daughters I learned the game, pitching, slapping, hitting etc. and actually fell in love with it. It is so different from BB which I played, coached, etc. Much faster pace and shorter games. Really looking forward to a trip to Tigertown to catch a BB and SB game over a weekend.

slap hitting is cheap

Jun 6, 2018, 11:08 AM

if they are going to allow it they need to do a better job of making sure the batter stays in the box, and/or back the bases up a bit. there was a girl who played with my sister in travel ball who had a .700 batting average slap hitting. ridiculous.

also those chants they do in the dugout tear my nerves up lol, but I guess i could watch if I muted the tV

LOL..we changed many girls (speedy) to lefty

slap hitters (especially if they couldn't hit a lick from the right side). Batting average would immediately go up. As for the chants it took a long time to get used to but doesn't bother me now. Having coached travel ball and watching these girls I have nothing but respect and admiration for their athleticism and toughness.

I believe they will be taking a closer look at the slap hitters. Would be very easy to do and they do not police it well.

Much easier to win in softball, as you only need 1 ace pitcher. It's nice to have a second or third pitcher to turn to. But, unlike baseball, your #1 can pitch every inning in softball. Coach will need to mine GA/FL for talent, as that is where the population is. Won't be able to win with just SC kids.

True on pitching...hopefully can pull a few from out west

with the coaches Stanford ties. Would seem that transfers could help us get good quick.
