What a whiner, or weiner...perhaps if Mr. Hafley has had

enough and is tired of getting beat then throw in the towel. It's not Dabo's job to do your job, or your teams job, for you Jeff. Don't recall BC trying not to score.

It’s wiener, not weiner.

No, it’s wiener. Named after the city of Vienna which the Austrians call Wien. Sorry you never were intelligent enough to learn how to spell properly.

What a weiner/wiener/weenie/D*ck.

I've got Google also:

Per Merriam-Webster

weiner noun

wei·ner
less common spelling of WIENER
1: FRANKFURTER, HOT DOG
… on Monday night, locals will gather around fires to roast wieners, apples and marshmallows.
— Stephen Terichow Parrott
— see also WIENER ROAST
2slang : #####
3informal : an awkward, weak, or ineffectual person
Now the little wiener makes himself out to be the hero …
— Garrison Keillor

BC put up 38 on Delaware. Someone needs to have a conversation with BC football about running up the score on poor Delaware.

Actually I see his point a little bit. But only a little. No team has a right to expect their program to honor a heroic alum should alter how an opponent plays the game on the field. And it does seem a bit odd that we never played them within conference until post 9/11, and I certainly don't remember red bandanas in prior games with CU in Chesnut Hill.

No one can seriously dispute that Dabo does not run up scores. No one compares to Dabo in playing the whole roster when the game is well in hand, which accrues to the benefit of outmanned opponents even when it could be to Clemosn's benefit to run up the score for ratings purposes. It also accrues to Clemson's benefit by making sure younger and more inexperieced players get playing time rather than worrying about the momentary advantage of improve rankings.

I do remember a few years ago when Dabo and a number of the Clemson players went out of their way to honor BC Mark Herlich in his battle wth cancer, for which Mark and the BC coaching staff expressed gratitude.

What I also remember is a game in Columbia in 1975 when the poultry was throwing bombs into the endzone with less than a minute to play and scored to wein by 36 points. I remember a certain Orange Bowl game with a few first half questionable calls that caused the game to get out of hand, and W. Va. dropped 70 points on the Tigers. Dana Holgorsen publicly criticized Clemson for continuing to try to score late even though his team had put up more than twice the points BC is worried about. What happened to Dana? In those games and others Clemson probably had a right to claim it was no class. The superior solution was not to cry about it but to dust off and get better, which is what Clemson did in both instances. Within two years of 1975, Clemson was going to bowls again and contending for the league title. Within four years of 2012 Obowl, Clemson would be in the championship game, thereafter win two nattys and go to the playoffs all but one year.

In addition to that...

Oct 10, 2022, 9:55 AM

I'll add that the Media/voters have done us ZERO favors. Look at the AP top five and tell me who has the best resume? Its us and that is not even close. Now why is that? I have a hunch that it is because of the narrative that the SEC and Big 10 conferences are just "that much more superior". Our wins against Wake and State just do not hold the weight that they SHOULD. We nor the ACC have control over voters so it was a national selection that put Wake/State at 15 and 10.
I just get sick and tired of the double standards. We get tired of hearing how "good" the SEC is and rightfully so. Even when we earn the ranking or fail to rise it is because of this constant perception by the national media that those wins are hollow (i.e. the ranings of Wake/State were inflated).
I say all that to say this: THAT IS WHY HE HAS TO PUT UP THE POINTS.

There had to be some kind of unknown backstory there. Dabo

even giving a HINT of running up a score is just completely foreign to his nature. Maybe he is finally seeing that being "Mr. Nice Guy" all the time is not gaining us anything, maybe even hurting our chances going forward. I got no problem with it at all. As he said, and as was obvious, the offense was NOT performing well, and we have one of the biggest games of the season coming up this weekend. To go into that with a little more confidence was the purpose of that last drive. Mission Accomplished!

Hafley gets paid $3,000,0000 / year to coach D1 college football. He has the same # of available scholarships as Dabo and the same opportunity to recruit any players he wants. He gets paid to keep the other team from scoring TDs. If he doesn't like it, he should go coach youth rotary baseball where the other team is only allowed to score 5 runs per inning and then your team gets a turn.
