Anything less than a playoff birth, then the success becomes dependent on our recruiting haul-

11-1 regular season

If we drop an early game because our offense is not straighten out yet or lose a close one at Notre Dame I can understand it. Probably puts us in the ACC title game and season long playoff talk even if we don't make it.

Right. To actually field a healthy WR corp.

Gotta make the playoffs. Anything less is not successful.

11-1 regular season. Then that should put us in the playoffs. 1-1 in the playoffs would be successful but 2-0 would be more fun.

Maybe 11-1 gets us in, but we now have a live PAC12 opp contending for a CFP spot****

11-1 gets us in if the loss is close to ND. And if ND has 0 losses or 1 loss to Ohio St.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

14-1. This team has enough talent to take it to the House.

Apr 25, 2022, 12:38 PM

Butt, there is always the chance that "growing pains" cost us a loss along the way. For that not to keep us out of the playoffs, it will have to come against a really good team, and not keep us out of the ACC Championship game. The only school I see on the schedule that checks those boxes is the Leaping Leprechauns of Notre Dammed.

Although, losing to them would be hard to stomach, so, make it 15-0 instead.

:)

0 or 1 loss and the ACC title. We'd hopefully have a win over the Neutured Dames and be in the talk for the playoffs. UGA and Bama will be getting consideration, the BIG10 champ as well and don't sleep on Venables at OU or Riley at USC if they go undefeated and win their conference championship. The pools getting more crowded so we need to up our game. If DJU loses 2 or we get eliminated from the Atlantic side later in the season, I see Cade getting the snaps for the rest of the year. That stretch after the bye week will have a polarizing effect. We'll either solidify against better programs or be getting younger players more experience for next year.

Win the ACC ... beat Scar ... gain a CFP slot.

Apr 25, 2022, 7:35 PM

Winning a game in the CFP would be gravy. Winning the title would be totally phenomenal.

But I’d say achieving the first three goals would do this year.

13-1. Gets us into CFP without any argument. From there it is all gravy. This will also help our recruiting.

After giving it a little more thought, I believe we have one of the best defensive units in the nation, if not the best. However I’m just not sold on the offense.. To win big in college football these days you have to have a dominant offence. I’m not sold onStreeter, DJ, and I’m not sold on our wide receivers. I feel will handle our ACC schedule fairly well possibly losing on the road at Notre Dame, because of the home cooking, and maybe lose one to the schedule. 10 and two, possibly win the ACC and play in the orange bowl. I feel that would be a very successful season

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

With the schedule Clemson plays

Apr 25, 2022, 10:04 PM

I think 10 wins including bowl is successful

I think we need to win at least win 11 games.

We can't regress/stagnate for four years in a row. We have to show that our "decline" is reversing.

1 loss regular season acc championship

Apr 26, 2022, 12:22 PM

Can’t lose the acc again and consider it a success. Offense doesn’t even have to be elite to accomplish this, just top quartile in the acc. Come on tigers let’s go!

CFB Playoffs

Apr 26, 2022, 11:40 PM

Defense id rock solid if healthy. Playoffs are absolutely possible with improved O-line & WR play and with C. Klubnik at QB. But we play in the ACC which significantly lowers the bar.
