the Mets. Even Strider had a bad outing today. All we can hope for is that things go better when we get them in Truist Park next.

Yeah, it was hard to watch. The umpires had a hard time with the strike zone, too.

I'm shocked the umpires' union hasn't lodged a complaint about "K-Zone". It shows pretty much every one of their mistakes on balls and strikes. There was a sequence yesterday (I think) where the ump literally missed 3 calls in a row. Called 2 strikes balls to take the count to 3-2 and then called a pitch close to the shoe tops a strike for a called strike 3. In the interest of full disclosure, I will admit that the ump was bad both ways and I don't think that his incompetence in any way influenced the ultimate outcome of the game, though the final score may have been closer had he been even halfway decent at his job.

Nope .... way too early to declare anyone done. Every team is one or two injuries away from going from the penthouse to the outhouse. The Braves are not done, barring injuries, and I expect them to make the play-offs.

Phillies are done, they’d be lucky to get the 3rd wild card spot.

Yep, dropped 4 of 5 to the Mets...

...and the Phillies are suddenly red-hot and only 3 back of the Braves. Ouch.
Like a lot of folks, I keep waiting for the Mets to fold as usual but it ain't happening this year. They are stout and will be a heck of a struggle over-taking them this time. They're killing the Braves head to head.

The Mets have spent a lot of money over the past couple of years and made some savvy trades at the trade deadline. I don't know if this is going to be the Braves year to win the division. They should make the playoffs though and as we all know anything can happen in the playoffs.

Yep bad series for sure but they can make up for it on August 15th thru the 18th and also in the last home games of the regular season on September 30 and October 1st and 2nd when the Mets come to town for both series.Hopefully the Braves can get it under 5 games before those series.Atleast they still lead the National League Wild Card race.

Disappointing to say the least. Strider and Fried losing.

The Mets are fading away this year...

they have a top notch rotation and Scherzer and DeGrom as a 1-2 punch makes them the favorites every time out. Plus, they went out and go better at the trade deadline picking up a few solid bats....the Braves not as much.
The Braves will be fine and still make the playoffs, just not as likely to get the division this year. Have to win 3 of 4 next week in Atlanta.
