Well that was disappointing.

I thought we played well most of the game, Virginia just made a few more plays than we did. This certainly wasn’t a must win, but it was one I thought we could win.
If you had asked me at the start of the season if I would take a split with UVA, I would’ve said absolutely.
Now let’s go beat the Wolfpack in Raleigh on Saturday.

The lost look on offense for 6-7 min a game for the last 10 years has been the issue… seems like it happens atleast once a game… gotta figure out how to stop that and this team wins these close ones easy

I agree, those droughts are frustrating, but they aren’t unique to our team.***

I’m sure it’s not just us it just seems as a fan it happens to us more than most teams… I really think it’s a mindset thing though and we don’t and haven’t had a guy at the guard position to take over and get to the rim to stop these droughts … seems like we just Try to shoot our way out and usually doesn’t work out, the frustrating part is you see this team and the potential he just doesn’t seem to be able to keep the team consistent and play an entire game … this team will beat a couple teams it’s not supposed to but will have a couple head scratchers also … unfortunately unless the acc steps up we are prob not making it unless we go on a huge run and that won’t be good for BB after 12 years

Let’s not pretend that game wasn’t a back-breaker. It will take a tournament championship or a miracle run to make the tournament now. No chances for big wins, and lots of chances to crap the bed, which we will definitely do a couple more times this season. At this point it might be better to drop all the close ones so we can get a coaching change.

Here we go, deja vu all over again or more likely the Twilight Zone. 2022 has started no differently from 2021. Tigers get in rhythm, COVID breaks the momentum and then it takes 2 or 3 games after the COVID break to get back in rhythm. Then repeat!

The ACC is putrid. We could easily set a record for conference wins in a season and not even be on the bubble. Duke is the only quad 1 team on our entire schedule. They screwed us good by canceling. They would have actually boosted our RPI and Net rankings win or lose. We do play them at Duke but it cuts in half our quad 1 games.

Took my son to the game last night

and sat behind the UVa bench. Some observations:
1) Dismal crowd. Students still not back. 9:00pm start. Same rerun. Shoot even the DJ was setup in the MIDDLE of the student section.
2) Masks? Really? Do the people running Furman University now run Clemson too?
3) UVa is a bigger team. Didn’t affect us in the first matchup, but it did last night. I imagine this is an issue for us in most games.
4) Not sure why Honor sat down the stretch. Alex had one shot (which he made), but was not near physical enough to keep up on defense.
Good basketball game. UVa is not great, but they are improving. I miss the days of ole where when you beat an opponent by 17 in their gym, odds are you would smoke them at home.
Go Tigers

UVA played really well. All of their players were way more active in this game compared to the last. The Tigers didn't play a terrible game. 9 of 20, 45% from 3, 46% overall from the field, 10 of 16 at the charity stripe was disappointing, but that didn't lose them the game. 4 players in double figures for the Tigers normally is a pretty good sign, but UVA was more efficient offensively, and played really good defense in the 2nd half particularly.
