I actually believe the offense will improve under Streeter!

Dec 18, 2021, 9:32 PM

Listening to streeter talk the guy sounds as confident as can be. He lights up especially when talking about Klubnick. I think Streeter knows he’s got the pieces of the puzzle he needs to have a dynamic high powered offense next season. I believe Streeter offense next season will average 40pts a game and we will see a noticeable difference between Streeter and Elliot. No no not a different Offense but Streeter gonna open the playbook more with new wrinkles and I can’t wait to see this improved high scoring offense that’s coming especially next season. But I think we score 30 plus in the bowl Game against a good Iowa state defense. So it be a nice glimpse into the future.

This may be true. I think we needed a breath of fresh air. Things seem stale. I don't know if Streeter is the answer but the status quo needed a shaking up. I was watching some footage of the 2016 season the other day and the weapons at WR aren't what they used to be either. We made catches with Legget, Renfrow, Williams, and Cain that we would never make now.

This is why I don't get all the negativity about our coaches. There is not a single offensive position that is close to as talented this year than those of the last 3-5 years.

I loved the Cain Sweep especially against the Coots! Magic!

for that to happen the Oline HAS GOT to improve significantly. Also, the recievers have to be more focused and have less drops. Really wish Dabo would rewind time and run this bowl practice like he did the LSU bowl practice. I remember players saying those practices were more physical and tougher than anything they ever imagined

Hope you're talking Clemson vs LSU Peach Bowl and not Clemson vs LSU National Championship Game....because I don't believe we could get physical practicing in a ballroom.

Yeah, doesn't seem wise after going 12 rounds with OSU in that hard fought semi-final.

O-line was fine for pass protection after about the third game this year. dj had time to write a book back there.

The O-line played pretty good the last 4-5 games and all DJ could do was be AVG at best .

Well it can’t get much worse than it was this year.

Dec 19, 2021, 9:47 PM

I anticipate Streeter keeping things mostly the same in terms of philosophy, since Dabo has been clear that it’s what he wants. But I hope Streeter will have an opportunity to put his own stamp on the offense within those parameters.

I would love to see us incorporate more motion/eye candy and also go up tempo. I realize we need to be able to execute plays better before going at a faster speed, or else we will leave our defense in even worse situations than we typically do with 3 and outs. I do think an offensive rhythm would help, and the stand at the line for 10-15 seconds before snapping thing that has become our norm makes it hard to do that.

I believe the ability to go up tempo and be successful doing it hinges on the QB’s ability to process things rather quickly.

I would like us to get back to more up-tempo. It just puts so much pressure on the defense and we can get big plays due to their fatigue and missing assignments due to not adjusting well to the pace.

Yes, that is a no brainer. How good will the offense have to be to improve? It could not be much worse that in was in 2021.

Re: I actually believe the offense will improve under Streeter!

Dec 20, 2021, 5:26 PM

All depends upon the OL for next year - Stop talking until that is in place - And you need 8-10 capable starting caliber lineman to be successful over a full season!!!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I actually believe the offense will improve under Streeter!

Dec 21, 2021, 4:49 AM

Nice thought, but no team is going to have 8-10 starting caliber OL. At best, you'll get 5-6 starting caliber and a few capable backups. Just not that many out there, especially for one team.

I am optimistic. Streeter being a former QB I think brings a different perspective. Also, I believe TE was so analytical that sometimes he overthought things or as he did at SC, (in his own words) outsmarted himself. I believe Street will be more “feel of the game” where I think Tony was more a metrics type guy

We suffered through a perfect storm of offensive woes, and still got 9 wins, so far. We will be better, no doubt.
