Well, I finally got my call from the IRS

on my CELL phone!!! Was notified by a recording that the IRS had a lawsuit against me and if I didn't call 845-363-5384 within 4hrs they would send the Sheriffs Dept to my house with a warrant. Well, being the good citizen that I am I made the call. I was informed that I owed $9300 to the IRS and if I would wire $5000 dollars to Brewster, NY I would be cleared of any charges. I informed them that I had no transportation but had the cash and if they would send their rep to my house I would pay up. They said it didn't work that way and I should get to Western Union as soon as possible and call them from there. I said I couldn't do that and was informed that law enforcement would be at my house within the hour. I thought......NY......I wonder if that call originated from a Tugboat? Your thoughts please, the cops are coming to get me.

I've experienced this same thing. Once I figured out what they were doing I wasted about a half hour of their time giving out fake names fake information and making them prove to me who they are lol. They'll give you if numbers and case numbers to make it seem real

They had a special on the news a couple weeks ago where a cop actually got the same call. He called the number back while they were actually video taping and had his phone on speaker. Conversation went on for a few minutes. The cop never told the scammer he was a cop at least while on video.

Well about 3 years ago I got a letter from the IRS threatening to start taking my pay check .
Telling me to call them ASP , so long story short.
If you turbotax you better not fudge ,I did one time
And believe me never again.

for Tax Administration. You can call 1-800-366-4484 or go to www.tigta.gov and fill out the form. They'll need the phone number that called you. I reported it when they called me.

I get this all the time. It's the law that they have to send you a copy of your debt in the mail and give you 30 days, I beleive to respond. If they refuse to send you something to verify it, then it's fake.

Wasn't me , my company had me in the ICW all last week between Norfolk and Jacksonville, Florida.
I will ask around , but suggesting that tugboaters are smart enough to scam ANYONE shows that you really haven't done your research.
