Well Folks

I am experiencing some difficulties' as we speak. I have a full-blown, hyperdrive, super-duper, e flat trailer trucking case of Shingles. It started Wednesday and band six or more inches wide runs from the middle of my sternum around under my left armpit to my spine.
I though I could tuff it out; however Mr. Shingle showed me. I went to the doctor this morning and he said you have a text book case. He prescribed three medications, pain, steroid and a high powered antibiotic. He said I should see some results in 4 or 5 days.
I have never had anything like this. It is a butt kicker. I could have prevented this by taking the Shingles vaccine. If any of you have not done so, I URGE YOU WITH OUT HESITATION TO MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT MONDAY.
Sorry had to correct some pain medication errors. Message was edited by: Purple Gunstock 15®

Sorry to hear about your mother. My Dr. told me this morning to take the vaccine when mine clear up. Ask your Mother to ask her Dr. If she should do the same. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, I will do the same for your mother!

Feel for you Purple. I know what you are going through. Had it on my left side and it is a pain you can't describe to anyone because you have never felt that way.

All I can say is my skin feels like it was sanded with 60 grit sand paper and then wiped with Clorox at times. Never hade stones, I understand they can be brutal.

went through was brutal. She'd come back to work, then be out again. Ended up spreading to her eyes. She had to quit her job eventually. Better believe, I went and got the shingles shots. Also got the pneumonia shot recently. The Pfizer shots. I'm an anti-anti-vaxxer, I want em all. If they come out with a cancer vaccine, I'll dump your grandma out of her wheelchair to grab her spot in line. LOL
Hope you have a quick recovery, hang in there.

it was "recommended" after 50. I guess there's a good reason why you can't get it earlier...

I have had Kidney Stones and Plantgia Fagitis(sp.) The worse pain was stenosis of the lower back spinal nerves. One's position did nothing to relieve the pain and it was constant, One week I had to ask my wife to take me to the emergency room twice so I could get some sleep. Had surgery the morning of the last big snowfall in Charleston and I did not know a thing until the next morning. The back is fine.

I got the shingles vaccine as soon as I could

I'm paranoid. I get every vaccine and test that I am supposed to get. I ordered a colonoscopy as soon as I turned 50 and they found early stage cancer. If I would have waited until symptoms showed up it would have been bad.
Plus I had an acquaintance get shingles and he convinced me to get the vaccine.
