Well boys, as some of you know, I had a personal goal to run up and down

Apr 16, 2022, 3:25 PM

The steps at Wren 50 times by my birthday which is tomorrow. I didn't make it..but in my defense I tore a muscle that connects my shoulder to my spine a few months ago when I over did it FISHING! I lost several weeks where I could not do anything at all but work. However, today I almost made it...completing 36 trips up and down the aluminum steps in 27 mins and then up and down 6 of the concrete steps in 5 mins plus a few 110 yard sprints and a couple of 220s. So, my challenge to any on here who have been thinking about starting a workout program is....Get up and go do it. Go walk a half mile...and then a mile plus a hundred yards tonorrow...Good luck!

And if you really want to have a good day...walk to your closest church tomorrow. You may receive the greatest gift ever extended.

Happy Easter!

Great post.

I used to do things like that, but arthritis in both knees makes running down steps very dangerous. I try to walk 3 to 6 miles every day.

And, two years ago, I set a goal of walking to my church. After about 6 months of slowly increasing my distances, I did it. 11.3 miles.

Like you, I encourage people to get, or stay, physically active. You don't have to bite off more than you can chew. On the first day set a reachable goal. Then just work on continually reaching that goal and setting a new goal.
