honor of Clemson to Ocracoke Island for the last three days in search of some good sized drum. Sad to report my catch was limited to a few small flounder and a great number of tiny, pesky pompano.

Nothing like using 40-lb line to pull in four-ounce fish.

I think the water is still too warm. Maybe next year...

Nope. Didn't even photography the full moon that looked like it came right out of the water. I've put down the camera/phone in order to appreciate being there.

I'm in Garden City Beach and I talked to a local fisherman yesterday who said that the drum
running in NC and headed south.

when I was a kid we were there and missed the ferry back to the mainland by one car. we stayed an extra day. there was literally nothing to do there back then. No tv and a hotel and a couple places to eat. As teenagers we hated it. They didnt even have internet because Al Gore hadnt invented it yet. one of the worst vacation experiences ever.

Went fishing in Georgetown on Tuesday and we caught about 15 bull reds that were anywhere from 36-42”. Lots of fun!

Did you gig or hook the flounder? I gigged a few on Sullivan's Island when I was much younger, but I've never hooked one.
