Weekend Play for Our Tigers . . .

Jun 24, 2022, 8:22 PM

Tip of the Cap to Lucas, Jacob and Carson for finding a way into the weekend . . .

Shame on Joaquinn for letting MyfavOrange® down . . . if he had ever met the man and MfOJr and known the situation, he would have played better.

Sorry, the Tour Canada Leaderboard is still trash . . . Please post if you can find an accurate account of Bryson’s efforts.

Good for them. Evidently Lucas made a good recovery from where you indicated earlier. Regret to see Spieth and Fowler failing to be in the hunt lately.

Hope they try and get in 72 but if I had to bet, it'll be 54.

Definitely tip the cap to each of them. Lucas said in an interview last year he had problems keeping focused on every shot. Without being there, hard to say, but looking at his shots... There's some head scratchers. I really think he might hit a better shot closing his eyes.

I counted at least 4 shots a younger Lucas would have nailed. Hey, they got a chance to "move" tomorrow. All about the points.

Jacob is struggling with his driver. Perhaps he's realizing the fairways are tad wider in college and the rough a little thinner. First year grind.

Goal - top 75 for finals
Next - top 25 at conclusion of finals

Welp, all 3 of our Tigers playing today moved in the wrong direction.

Lucas bogeyed 5 holes in a row and 6 of 7. Probably still in last place.

Jacob had 2 double bogeys on two lost tee shots. Birdied his second hole of the day and was -1 thru 7, then the wheels came off. Not quite last place but close. He's at +3.

Carson with a promising start to what looked like an epic round brewing. He was -4 on the day thru 11. He closed with 3 bogeys over the remaining 7 holes which included 2 par 5's he parred. Finished -1 rnd and -2 tournament. Good for t58th at one point.

Bryson Nimmer sat around watching rain for 2 days in Canada. The tournament is now officially cancelled and won't be rescheduled.

Just try to make a few points tomorrow and work on the game.

“Moving Day” has been our nemesis all season . . . I’m just glad I didn’t tee it up today . . . Not a single Tiger played well . . . I would have added to the mess . . .

Tomorrow??? I will be teeing it up . . . so let’s hope all Tiger play better!!!

Trial to see if this highlights your uid

Skeeta56®

Let's see if this quotes your uid. Lucas gets to play fast. Being in last place, he tees up first with just a spotter.

Jacob has already missed a tee shot on 3 and had to drop and take a penalty. At least limited it to a bogey. Through 57 holes he's +14 strokes lost to par. Hard to score when you're constantly hitting from the primary rough. He gets his big stick working, he'll win a tournament sooner than later.

Enjoy your day - almost impossible not to when you're teeing it up..

Well, our 3 golfers didn't move forward today either. Lucas zipped around by himself in 2.5 hours and shot +2 to finish t70 which is last. At least he'll get pocket change.

Carson shot even and finished -2 t52. At least he made a cut but will probably still fall out top 25. Confidence boost I hope.

Jacob shot even to finish +3 and t65. Not good. However, his driving was better but his approach shots were not good. Had 2 more holes he had penalty strokes. By far his worst tournament. Still he did a yomens job to make the cut. He made better than the average of birdies 14 but he lost 17 shots to par.

Of the 12 par 5's he played, he birdied 3 but he still ended up +2 aggregate. Hopefully just a course that didn't fit his game.

On a side note, coody (finished one in university rank, 1 ahead of Jacob) will win today. He becomes the first of the 5 exempt players to notch a W and most likely assure his PGA card. Argh... Wanted Jacob to be first.

Hopefully the Colorado air will suit Jacob.

P.s. Jacob's penalties cost him 10 strokes. In addition, he birdied the drivable par 4 first once. 3, 3 putt greens.

Who knows what would have happened otherwise but that's like 14 strokes he lost to the field. Easily have been -10. Top 15 finish.

And all our golfing wizards that post Clemson related stuff.

I dm'd Alice Hewson and told her how much support she had from the "TNet golf group" and fans. She said that meant a lot to her and she really appreciated that the group posted her scores and followed her golf. ??

Once a Tiger, always a Tiger.
