Wake Forest HAS 1 conference loss to UNC although it doesn't have a Division loss. In fact, Wake, Clemson, and NC State ALL have a conference loss to a Coastal Division team. Clemson loss to Pitt, Wake loss to UNC, AND NC State loss to Miami. Wake STILL has three division teams to play - NC State, Clemson, AND BC; NC State has two division foes left (Wake Forest and Syracuse) and one more conference games with the Coastal Division (UNC); and Clemson only has one division game left with Clemson!! Clemson has to beat Wake Forest to have any chance, but if Wake beats NC State and Clemson beats Wake Forest, then NC State will have to win their other two games to finish 6-2. If all three teams finish with 6-2 records, then there will have to be the three-way tiebreaker rules applied which are very difficult to comprehend.

We will lose the 3 way tie breaker due to Wake having 2 division losses. So then it comes down to us and NC St (each would have 1 division loss) We would lose the head to head.
To recap... NC St needs to lose any 2 remaining ACC games. Wake needs to lose to Clemson and one more ACC game.

Wrong. Wake still doesn't have a conference loss. We need to have them lose and then beat them. State only needs to lose one more ACC game for us to have us over them.

Germans but the only way we get in is NCSU loses 2 out 3 of their remaining games must happen or it over for us. If that happens then We need to beat Wake and they will also need to lose to BC. basically a 20-25% chance of those things happening all together.

Wake Forest also has a conference loss. I assume that you aren't considering the UNC is still in the conference although in a different division like Clemson's loss to Pitt and NC State's loss to Miami!!

They scheduled a conference opponent in their available non-conference games (akin to us scheduling UGA). So, while they lost to a conference opponent, it does not count against their conference W/L record

It's true ... UNC vs. Wake last Saturday was NOT a conference game.
UNC's permanent Atlantic Division opponent is NC State.
UNC plays 2 Atlantic opponents and 6 Coastal opponents each year. (The max of 8 games in ACC play.)
Wake plays 2 Coastal opponents and 2 Atlantic opponents each year. (The max of 8 games in ACC play.)
The Wake vs. UNC game would have meant a 9th ACC game for each one; that is not allowed by conference rules.
UNC and Wake want to play each other more often than a home-and-home series every dozen or so years.
Therefore, they scheduled an "out of conference" game ... which was the one last Saturday.
SUMMARY: Really zuc#s for us, but Wake's loss did not count as a loss in ACC play.

Not so good at math are you? If Wake beats State they will still not have a loss and our game with them would not a Championship game. We need State to win because UNC has a better chance of beating them than BC has in beating Wake.

With Jurkovic back, I think BC has a solid chance to beat Wake in Chestnut Hill (where it will also likely be frigid). I think our chances are better of Wake beating NC State and state also losing to UNC. If so, might be the first time I have pulled for the boys in light blue since they played SCAR.

We need to make two assumptions…that we beat wake and that UNC will beat state…if so then it comes down to who you think has the better chance
Syracuse beating State or BC beating Wake???
Whichever way you chose then you need to pull for that team to beat the other this weekend
I think BC has a better chance of beating wake thus I’m pulling for wake to beat state…I’d also rather se wake go than state go if I had to chose!!!

I'd just as soon they beat Wake, then we beat Wake, and have only the HTH with Wake to put us over the top for the division. Having NC State come down to needing a win v UNC at season's end, and come up short, would be epic.
