But it fires shotgun shells, right? I know it's a little silver pipe what looks like the tailpipe of a 74 VW Superbeetle

I don't think it fires shotgun shells - I may be wrong.

Being on the field right beside that thing when it is fired - it is ridiculously loud.
I don't think it is a shotgun shell making that kinda insanity.

With the addition of the new scoreboard they could have incorporated the cannon shot into it. It looks like they did that with the fireworks after the game. Why not add that and then there's no need to have whatever it is on a moving cart.

cannon we used in the 60's.
Personally, I like the idea of 155 Howitzers for especial effect with that Oculus thingy throwing up a monstrous Tiger Paw large enough to cover the stadium, while Susan Bowles belts out a rendition of "God Bless America...Her Comes The Tigers!"
Guaranteed not a football fan in the nation would want to miss that spectacle!

Heh, heh, heh……..the 155 is the largest thing I’ve ever seen fired. Incredible concussion coming off that thing. Even at 100 yards, you feel it and that’s in a wide open firing range.

Not so fast my friend. Before you try to get rid of our canon, do you have any idea the tradition of how long that canon's been in use. I don't know the exact answer, but I do know it's been used for a really really long time. I think it's older than me, and I'm an old guy.

My company makes military training aids, we can seriously do better than that!
How do we make it happen?

I've heard like many of you have that it's some new fire marshal code or something, but it looks awful.

when I was in grad school I had a buddy who is a great cfb fan. I remember him telling me how he'd like to see a Clemson entrance. At the time I honestly thought it was kinda silly...they have to make it to the field somehow. But it is pretty cool and when one gets to see the buses coming around and the fans going crazy it does give goisebumos

Great,Thanks for posting
I live out west and several football fans approached me this week impressed about the entry and asking questions
I told them that does not compare to be there. Great experience
