We lost a great Tiger.

Feb 5, 2023, 4:08 PM

My father, who was a Clemson man through and through, a lifetime donor to IPTAY and a member since 1976, passed to mesothelioma on January 20.

He is a season ticket holder for more than 40 years, and missed only a handful of home games in those years. I've been to GT, UGA, USC, and numerous bowl games with him. I knew every year that 7 Saturdays a year were going to be amazing with him.

He was a fantastic father, and an amazing grandfather to my daughter, and a very loving husband to my mom. He will be missed by everyone he ever came in contact with. I wish I could say more about him, but the words are hard to come by right now.

He is an amazing individual and couldn't have been a better father, grandpa, husband, or rep for Clemson. I don't know that I can go to anymore home games without him.

Thanks guys. Life is hard sometimes. Tell the ones close to you that you love them as much as you can.

Go Tigers.

I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created, and with them the animals,
The birds and the creatures that move along the ground, for I regret that I have made them.

I’m sorry for your loss and praying for your family.***

I understand your post. I watch football every Saturday in the Fall, and feel like he is right beside me. He loved college and HS football. Spent most Saturday afternoons watching games from noon until night with him.

Special times together.

Everyone grieves differently, but everyone grieves. It is part of the healing process.

You WILL go to games! And you will go to honor your father.

What a great story to read, especially in these days of fractured families. You were, and are, blessed.

Great fans as he was will always be missed. Great Fathers and Husbands can’t be replaced. Having been there I feel your hurt but it’s easier knowing what a great influence he’s was on your life. We all should never do or say anything our dads wouldn’t approve of. I think of that often!

So sorry for your loss. My prayer for you is that the grief you feel now will soon be replaced by fond memories. My Dad died 34 years ago when I was only 26. The passing of time does help.

Prayers. Heaven has a Clemson Man now.***

Tomorrow makes 3 years since I lost my dad. My love for Clemson came from my mom as dad wasn't a big sports fan. But my love for the outdoors came from my old man. A crisp, cool morning in the deer woods or out on the water is where I feel closest to him these days.

May God heal and bless you and your family. I remember my mom and dad, both passed now, came up to see Clemson defeat Maryland in the mid-60’s. It was a blowout win for us. We were led by Charlie Waters, who had switched from QB to a wide receiver. What memories for all of us. They really enjoyed the college football experience, as neither had the opportunity to go to college. You have great memories to hang onto. God bless you.
