I'm calling it now! Setting the stage for a rematch against Pitt!
NC State can easily lose 2 more games, especially since they lost to Miami this past week. That was not one I was expecting to be possible. If they can lose to Miami, they definitely could possibly lose 2 out of their last 5. They have to play Louisville, FSU, Wake, Syracuse, and UNC. In that order.
Wake has to play us and their defense is not good by any means of the word. If we beat them, and they lose one more to Duke, NC State, Us, or BC.
I'm not saying the stars don't have to align some for us, but it is very possible. Obviously this season has been disappointing, but I will say this team is scrapping. I know we didn't win the games and that is what matters, but we were 2 plays from beating the #1 team in the country right now. 1 play from beating NC State a top 25 team, and 2 plays from beating PITT who is #17-19 in the country depending on poll. 5 plays from being 7-0. We aren't getting stomped out by any means!
I just have a feeling in my gut, and orange colored glasses, that we will end up back in the ACC Championship game and redeeming ourselves against PITT.
End of the season through all the ups and downs, 11-3 record, ACC Championship, and Orange Bowl Champions! I'll take it! Ok, you all can tell me how dumb I sound now, but I just have this feeling it's going to happen.

It's going to be fun to watch what happens. It all begins with this weekend. I don't believe State needs to lose two more (but is possible). we need to finish strong and get higher in the AP pole if there is a three way tie with State and Wake. Wake needs to lose to us and one other, State needs to beat Wake and lose another one. Three way tie 6-2 teams, highest rank team goes to the ACC Championship game. Not sure if this is totally correct but sure makes sense to me.

two more with that offense. Nancy just lost two defensive starters for the year off an already marginal defense. No way Duke or BC beat wake.

I agree with you that there is not much chance.
The most unlikely part at this point seems to be Clemson winning its last 3 conference games.
However, as disgusting as it may feel, Clemson needs to pull for UNC against Wake and NC State.
Let's make the huge assumption that Clemson wins its last 3.
UNC and Clemson beating Wake means we pass Wake.
UNC and 1 more team beating State means we pass State.
Again I am not holding my breath on any of this, but if UNC plays well down the stretch the scenario becomes much more likely.

Just checked both schedules and it appears you are right.
Wake does have 4 more conference games. UNC would be their 5th.
UNC has 2 more and Wake would be their 3rd.
Disappointing as that seemed to be their best chance to lose one by far.
