Was this the Worst Game of Dabo’s Coaching Career?

Nov 5, 2022, 10:30 PM

I personally think so.

I can’t think of a worse game played under him.

Don’t get worse than the WVU game***

I agree I was thinking about that Orange bowl with WVA

Re: Don’t get worse than the WVU game***

Nov 5, 2022, 10:43 PM

This is the worst. In the Orange Bowl vs WVU, it was the turnovers. That is a very different game if that fumble return for TD doesn't happen. Might still lose that one, but the offense at least scored/moved the ball.

This game (vs ND) is by far the worst.....two weeks to prepare AND after that BS vs Syracuse. ### was that with Cade? Why do that to the kid???? THAT was probably the WORST of all of this.

Go Tigers!!!

considering the talent level (while debatable).........yes!***

His ego isn't the problem. It's the talent.

Re: YES--- His ego is clouding his judgement IMO***

Nov 5, 2022, 10:44 PM

I'm not sure that it is ego, but it sure as heck isn't a lack of talent.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: YES--- His ego is clouding his judgement IMO***

Nov 5, 2022, 11:46 PM

Yes it is. It's not a "lack" of talent per se, but the talent level simply isn't elite like it was a few years ago. Really good, but not elite.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: YES--- His ego is clouding his judgement IMO***

Nov 5, 2022, 10:49 PM [ in reply to Re: YES--- His ego is clouding his judgement IMO*** ]

It's his ego. He decided it was a good idea to hire his buddies to coach instead of going out to find the best in the country. You know, like he did after we got our butts beat by West Virginia.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes, but this loss was coming all year. Really it’s been coming since

Nov 5, 2022, 10:32 PM

Dabo decided that Clemson didn’t deserve the best coordinators available.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Like who?? We are hampered by a QB

Nov 5, 2022, 10:42 PM

who has regressed. When ND got up on us it allowed them to play to their strongsuit. When we couldn't complete passes downfield, then we threw the pick 6, that was that. This isn't on coordinators. They're the reason we were 8-0.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Like who?? We are hampered by a QB

Nov 5, 2022, 11:53 PM

I disagree. QBs don’t regress if coaching is good/competent. Even TL regressed the longer he played at Clemson.

Re: Was this the Worst Game of Dabo’s Coaching Career?

Nov 5, 2022, 10:33 PM

Most embarrassing for sure. Maybe Dabo really was just as good as his coordinators. Games like this make you wonder.

WVU Orange bowl merits some though. That was brutal

Lost to USF in 2010 Car Care Bowl.

Went 6-7 that year.

NO...Remember WVU hung 70 on us

Nov 5, 2022, 10:34 PM

We were a much better team than the Score....

Also, FSU out a worse beatdown on us and we were a better team than the score.

Tonight we shat on ourselves

It’s one of his worst regular season losses that’s for sure. Nothing can beat the West Virginia loss.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hard to say. Maybe this is another West Virginia moment?

Nov 5, 2022, 10:35 PM

Maybe if Jeff Scott loses his job we get him back as the new OC. Oklahoma's not happy with BV right now either.

1) WVU Orange Bowl
2) LSU National Title Game
3) ND 2022

Worst losses in his time at Clemson imo. He made the right changes after the WVU game but after the LSU title game he didn't do anything to fix it.

The College football world has figured Dabo out.
If he doesn’t change things his greatest years are behind him

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So, chicken little, do you think having a pedestrian QB

Nov 5, 2022, 10:38 PM

has anything to do with it? Lol, at some of you babies.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: So, chicken little, do you think having a pedestrian QB

Nov 5, 2022, 10:42 PM

It’s been 2 whole years of beating inferior teams barely and losing to the only good teams we play .
No excuse to look as bad as we do with all the talent.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We do have some talent, and until tonight had the longest win streak in the country.

Nov 5, 2022, 10:47 PM

But we're not a national title contender with #5 at the QB position. Love DJ, but he just doesn't have "it", obviously. When I saw him missing passes in the flats I knew we were in trouble. You can see it all over DJs face when he loses confidence.

Why is he still our starter? Did he appoint himself?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Was this the Worst Game of Dabo’s Coaching Career?

Nov 5, 2022, 10:38 PM

With the players he has, YES! Dabo has gotten complacent. Big salary, weak league. Has won it twice so he thinks he can do no wrong. Plus he thinks he can hire his buddies and not use the portal and it won't matter. Well, aren't we all shocked.

West Virginia

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Was this the Worst Game of Dabo’s Coaching Career?

Nov 5, 2022, 10:47 PM

No heck ho. Worse game ever was the beating we took many years ago under dabo against West Virginia in a bowl game...it was ridiculous. On another note, the staff got some serious issues. How do you come off a bye week unprepared and unmotivated. Something is out of wack the last few weeks. Secondly, a change.needs to be made in the defense scheme and play calling. Our defense has looked suspect all year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Was this the Worst Game of Dabo’s Coaching Career?

Nov 5, 2022, 10:49 PM

The WV game comes to mind but this is the worst. The program is much more nationally recognized and successful than back then. When you have arrived as a program, you're not supposed to lose like this.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This is even worse than WVU

Nov 5, 2022, 11:49 PM

Our talent level is so much higher.

We got beat to a pulp tonight.

I don’t like to lose, but this was totally embarrassing.

Also to lose line this with so much more on the line makes it a worse loss than WVU.
