Is his absence the issue?

Well he’s winless against FBS teams so far so not sure how long he will be there. He might be available to come back

No it wasn't Scott it was Watson and TL Etienne and a others. This offense has been questionable for a few years wasn't it Dan Orlovsky he's been saying our schemes have been lacking for a few years. Others RG3 called our routes archaic. We need a new playbook Oline coach and someone that can schemes and called plays .My only question is Does Tony have full control or does Dabo call plays?

I remember hearing someone discuss our route tree, calling it simplistic, unsophisticated and remember being PO'd about it, now I'm PO'd they were right.

It was DW and TL, most likely.

I believe that with respect to the play of the current wide receivers. Drops, bad blocking, lazy and/or miscues on routes, and lack of aggressiveness on 50/50 balls are visible across the group. These are all very talented players so Coach Scott’s instruction seems to be the missing factor.

yeah I'm getting tired of hearing how close and yet we see some less that 100% effort and execution on plays. Then you're not close . Quit slacking and do your job every play you are in there. If you cant then sit down and lets find a player who will.

So far, his presence sure hasn't been the answer at South

Oct 19, 2021, 10:18 AM

Florida. He's in year 2, so hopefully he gets time. My personal opinion, he was a great coach here. But he was not the straw that stirred the drink. That was, is and will continue to be Dabo

Is Scott also the play caller or did he hire an OC?

Charlie Weis Jr is their OC

But Dabo don't call the plays?

The biggest issue was and currently is...

Oct 19, 2021, 10:54 AM

returning just 2 of 11 starters on offense. The players we now have aren't as talented or as experienced as the players we lost. It's hard to replace the production of generational players like Trevor and Etienne.

It's really just that simple.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Understand, but the offense against ACC teams has us around 110th in the FBSrankings. The returning non starters are not former FCS transfer players or promoted walk-ons. They are highly recruited and talented players with many having several years to learn and adapt to the system. It’s more than just being first time starters.

After winning two championships…

and being amongst the elite of the elite for 5 years, why should we have such a drastic w drop off in talented depth? You said 2 out of 11 starters on offense; that seems crazy, but a program that’s known for playing lots of guys should be able to field a better offense than this, would you agree?

A rebuild is acceptable, inevitable. But to be this bad? There’s no excuse for it. By this point in the season the talent we’ve (supposedly) been recruiting should beat the shyatt out of BC and Syracuse.

I was at the South Florida/Tulsa game this past Saturday, ALL IN in my Clemson attire, of course. I received various comments from SFU fans but the best one was the guy who said, "Clemson, huh?" So I told him that we were there to get our coach back. His response? "You can have him!" True story.

Not sure.

Many forget the Clemson/Notre Dame game in the monsoon years ago. We had ND on the ropes - went into halftime - came back out and pulled that "conservative play" bullschlit, allowing ND to score, catch up and #### near beat us.

Happened with NCSU when they almost beat us the same year (muffed FG)
Happened the year before when Pitt beat us at home.

Our play calling has been hidden by immense talent that the current QB does not posses.

Need a leader on the field. You see a pretty big drop off on both sides of the ball anytime the leader isn’t on there. We don’t have one of offense right now that everyone is confident in.

He is a former player and an alumnus; clearly unqualified to coach at Clemson
