I'm so GD sick of Trump calling everything "fake news"

Jul 16, 2017, 2:06 PM

There is such a thing as fake news but it ain't what The Donald keeps chirping about. Fake news is kids kept in the basement of a pizza shop. It's not coverage of an email that we can all read in black and white because your own son released it to the media. You may not like the story but that doesn't make it fake, Don.

There is something so disingenuous about this person. He tells lie upon lie upon lie and somehow people believe his excuses. Shut up with smearing the Media like we're in a communist state and get to making America great again, whatever that is supposed to mean.

Rant. Over.

With your wine? Media has been on a mission to destroy Trump with zero proof of anything with their 24/7 Trump bashfest for 8 months and your mad because the president calls them fake news.

Lutz. So what you saying is the media can do and say anything they want but they can't handle being called names. I'm sure there's a safe zone you can find somewhere

I'm angry at how ignorant our country has become

Jul 16, 2017, 3:48 PM

Maybe I'm mistaking ignorance with blind obedience. Either way, the guy is discrediting an important part of our democracy all in the attempt to cover up his shadiness and people are lining up to defend his ridiculous deflecting.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Actually I think the media is doing that

Jul 16, 2017, 4:37 PM

But I see you are blind to that so debating anything would be a waste of time

America works best when both of these institutions

Jul 17, 2017, 10:09 AM [ in reply to I'm angry at how ignorant our country has become ]

hold themselves to a higher standard.

Who can argue that Trump holds the office of POTUS in high esteem? That he considers it a sacred position and a great responsibility and honor? Hard to imagine that's the case, given his small-minded Tweets (seriously...Tweets) and general rhetoric.

But at the same time, who thinks that the media is interested solely in truth, or really interested in it at all? Or in being unbiased and fair in their coverage of current events and in particular this administration?

Both institutions are run by people who don't seem to have any respect for their own roles, and the result is very sad.

O please, you are one of the biggest biggest purveyors of fake news articles outside of Cdef. You have linked everything from birther nonsense, to Hillary having parkinsons. If getting the facts straight were a life and death matter, you would have died a long time ago.

There is a great quote that goes...

Jul 16, 2017, 7:04 PM

"You cannot reason people out of positions they didn’t reason themselves into"

and that very much applies to Trump supporters. No matter how many lies or incompetence Trump displays, they will support him to the end. All the negatives surrounding Trump are dismissed as a media conspiracy built on some craven attempt to derail his grand designs. No matter that most of the media attention comes from Trump's own tweets or his actions. Any and all push back or accountability thrust upon Trump is dismissed as "fake news!" It's embarrassing. Even though Trump supporters are firmly in the minority, it's still distressing that he has ANY support at this point. What has he done that warrants devotion at this point?

Fake News is real. But Trump is a Fake President.***

Why are you blaming Trump for MSM fake news?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Which outlets are "MSM,"

Jul 17, 2017, 10:07 AM

and which alternative news outlets do you find to be more credible?

Re: Which outlets are "MSM,"

Jul 17, 2017, 10:03 PM

I'll answer for CDef.

MSM: CNN, NYT, WaPo, MSNBC, WSJ

Credible alternative "news": Fox News, Breitbart, InfoWars, Drudge Report, National Enquirer

Fake news helped win him the election.

Jul 17, 2017, 9:07 AM

It only makes sense to deflect the issue by calling all negative reporting "fake news."

Trump is only doing what any terrible leader and all-around awful person would do.

Fake news was created to see what Internet conservatives would believe

Turns out a lot
