Walking through a store and I see a perfectly normal person

Mar 9, 2019, 6:02 PM

With a service dog. I think to myself it doesn’t get more Ridiculous than that. Then on the next aisle I see a family of four wearing gamecock shirts, so it does.

You can thank the show Shameless for a lot of this faking and scamming garbage. Gamecock fans however I could understand.

You need to thing twice before you presume that someone does not need a service animal. There are many legitimate reasons that don't meet the eye, and they don't get approved for someone that does not need them.

LOL. You don’t need approval to buy a dog vest on Amazon. If the person is not blind then They can leave the dog in the car or at home

It’s possible that is a service dog being trained by a volunteer trainer.

There are service dogs that alert owners who have epilepsy that they are about to have a seizure so the person can get help immediately. There are also dogs that alert owners with diabetes that their levels are either too high or too low. These people would look perfectly normal. If you go online, you can read about this. It is actually very interesting and totally amazing!

So their sugar could unexpectedly shoot up in the 15 minutes it takes to get in and out of Lowe’s? Owning a dog in general is good and I am in favor of support dogs but most are scams because their owners are selfish

Re: Walking through a store and I see a perfectly normal person

Why is it selfish to want to take a dog into Lowes? I think it shows they care about their dog.

The real question is why does it bother you? Jealousy? Envy? What emotional or mental issue do you have that is triggered by it? Is their issue real or fake? Who knows. If it's fake, then that's a discussion about their mental health. But why does it stir some resentment in you? Maybe some self examination is warranted.

What if you have a child that is allergic to dogs?

Mar 11, 2019, 8:24 AM [ in reply to Re: Walking through a store and I see a perfectly normal person ]

I get on a lot of planes and the dogs are on planes. I just wonder what will happen when I have him on a plane with a dog. Just a question.

I thought Lowes would let anyone bring a dog in.
I personally think dogs belong on the porch and game ##### in the coop.

There happens to be a number of posters on Tnet who could use a service dog if it could help them from making stupid comments about Tiger players and coaches! I once had a dog who probably could help a lot of our “fans”!

People without physical disabilities don't have service dogs

Mar 9, 2019, 7:22 PM

unless they are training them. A service dog is not an "emotional support" dog. Emotional support dogs are for whack jobs.

FYI. I’m not makeing fun of people with serious health conditions, but I do believe some take advantage of the whole thing.

I believe that service dogs have legitimate paperwork that must be produced if questioned.

I don't have my paperwork , officer .
My service dog ate it .

Seems legit for 2019 .

Re: Walking through a store and I see a perfectly normal person

I will excuse your ignorance. I suffered a brain injury which left me with a seizure condition, (it's all good, I should be dead). I would love to have a service dog, seizures are not fun and can sneak up on you with very little warning. To look at me or talk to me, I'm no more ignorant than I ever was.

I suggest you give folks the benefit of the doubt. Peace.

Re: Walking through a store and I see a perfectly normal person

I am veteran and like many I also suffer from PTSD. As years go by, the memories fade and the issue isn’t as great for me. However, years later I can still wake up in a cold sweet and a feeling like I am right back there. Many veterans deal with it differently, some use emotional support dogs to help. To each his own choosing, I will never fault a veteran that feels they need this level of assistance.

You should educate yourself on service dogs and their need. I am legally blind don’t use a service animal but having diabetes and vision issues I can understand why people use them. I go out of my way to look normal in public just because of folks like you.

Just be thankful you or any family members don’t need a service dog. Did the dog bite you or sh it on the floor? I wouldn’t sweat little things like this and just be glad you have good health.

I was at a restaurant on Thursday, and I had to sit at a table next to some Gamecock fans. You know, it's not easy trying to digest your food when you have to witness that. I thought there was a rule from them wearing coot gear in restaurants.
