I just tried to call Walk-Ons to see if I needed a reservation for an 11:30 lunch, but my call was transferred to a pre-paid wireless sales office.
* Is the restaurant still open?
* Is it any good for lunch?
* Will I need a reservation?

Yes, it's open. I mean, it's overpriced chain food. There are much better restaurants in town. You might as well be asking if you need reservations for Fatz or BWWs. If you go at peak time, you might have to wait, but I'd be surprised if they even take reservations. It's got the SC effect right now where everything new is really popular, but I don't consider it worth it at all.

We don't get a lot of new stuff. Because of that, when we do, people swarm it and it becomes extremely popular for 6 months before the popularity dies off again. You haven't noticed that? I remember when Clemson got the chick-fil-a or any of the places and cookout. Anderson's Up On The Roof is getting swarmed right now, and Greenville, when it opens a Texas De Brazil next year, will have the same thing happen. This happens any time there's a new place, and that's what's happening to Walk-Ons right now.

I walked around downtown Anderson a few weeks back. They are trying, but something about that place is depressing as hell.

when a new restaurant opens....
I lived in a small town in Georgia that opened a Popeyes. The line was out on the main road for three weeks. This isn't a SC thing. There is no such thing as a SC effect.

Depends what you're craving. You can't go wrong with The Esso Club and Loose Change makes the best burger in town (except the burgers in the food court near Harcombe used to be out of this world when I was there). I was pleasantly surprised by Your Pie. Obviously, doesn't hold a candle to real pizza, but is good for around there. I'm also a glutton so loved that chinese buffet in town if its still there.
But if you're willing to drive to Anderson (15 minutes away), I'd highly recommend Little Pigs BBQ or Skins for a good lunch.

Went there for lunch this past Sunday. It was delicious. Cajun food is very good. Try the crawfish etouffee.
