Vol fan has something besides Clemson conference

membership to worry about today.
NCAA hits Tennessee football with 18 Level 1 violations. Level 1 being the most serious. Got a feeling we will not be seeing as much of him around here. he never would answer my questions about the current status of the investigation. I guess he didn't know. If he was that concerned about another team's conference membership, I'm pretty sure he didn't know the hammer was that close.

LOL! You mean Disney ABC whose football coverage is provided by Disney SECPN? Not a snowball's chance in you know where they jump on it.

The NCAA’s hammer? A promissory note they’ll have to sign stating they won’t do it again (Ref UNCheat - their last (rubber hammer).

Now that it's legal to pay players, does it really matter?

SEC wants to give NCAA the football death penalty. NCAA ought to lay it to Tennessee first.

Clemson81to85,
Most of those NCAA 'findings' were already known about as UT reported them. What did Vol fans think? Well, we know the SEC and the B1G is leaving the NCAA but that will be a little while and had no bearing on this.
It wasn't surprising because EVERYONE is doing it. What was surprising is how Pruitt & Company went about doing it. They were directly involved instead of sending 'messengers' to do the handouts. Remember, Tennessee exposed this. They wanted to get rid of Pruitt. The NCAA doesn't seem to look for things like this as it is standard, widespread, practice. The only time it comes out is if a university self reports and then they have to do 'something'.
Vol fans became 'ho hum' with this as it has drug on for, it seems like, ages. The attitude has been we got cut out within the pack of the herd for speeding and everyone else didn't.
You think your hands are clean? My best friend played football at Clemson. When it came down to going to a school I had a hard time believing it would be Clemson. The deciding factor was his father was a lineman at Clemson that went on to the NFL. I didn't know that as their trophy room was full of the kids' achievements and the dad had never mentioned it. BTW, the dad became my basketball coach. All that my friend heard was 'Clemson' his entire life so then I understood.
There were plenty of stories to be heard. The Tiger Girls showered recruits with sex when they came on a visit. The girls were then paid by boosters for their 'services'. I'm sure you know of this ..... it may have been when the dad went there, I'm not sure. If a player had a big exam coming up they would give him the answers to the test if he wanted them. The smart way to 'help' a player when they needed cash was one of the grad students or someone that had a very minor part in the program would slap them on the back and tell them, "A visitor is coming to see you". Someone OUTSIDE of the football program would look them up and give them an envelope of cash. Pruitt and associates (I even heard a wife), we have heard, became bag men in some form which is really stupid. The end result is you did it, too, just in a different way.
When you hear of things like this just plug in any university in any conference you want as it is going on there as well in some form or fashion. UT used this as a way to send Pruitt packing and was willing to take any consequences in doing so.

punishment will handed down? Heck, the NCAA isn't even going to be the governing body of college football for much longer. And too, the SEC has long been the cheatingest conference in the game. The NCAA has been unsuccessful at stopping them.
And if these pay for play "crimes" were today, they could have easily been hid in the NIL.
Hopefully one day there's a strong governing body similar to the NFL, otherwise the cheating and lack of control over things like the NIL will ruin things. As Dabo and Nick have said, it's not sustainable.
