She is a fighter though, just a freshman too. 2nd and 3rd no outs, tough situation here and she is losing some control. Dig deep, real deep here.

That 1 run might be all it takes today. Weak grounder is all it took. The Tiger bats just aren’t doing anything for the team, too bad because Tigers are the better team. Losing to Duke stinks in any sport!!! Come on Tigers, put some fight

she was rolling balls up there in both the last two games.
It sucks that both hits that inning had a combined exit velo of 5 mph.
The bats will get it together, hopefully.

Yea, she is tired. Forcing it instead of taking what’s given.
All those pitches were way outside off the plate. She is trying too hard which leads to bad results. Nobody helping her today, cannot blame her

Too bad the bats just fell asleep. The last 3 outs are always the toughest, let’s at least put her in some trouble in bottom of 7th!!!

I think she had gave all her best stuff by the end of the 4th inning, and she was struggling after that!!! That pitch that she has that goes outside to the inside on right handed hitters wasn't there today. And when she tried that pitch, it was getting away from her. Her best pitch today, was her fastball over the plate, and even that pitch was going away by the 5th inning!!! She was over used, period!!!!

Agree, any team in america would take a 2 hit 1 run performance every game. A fluke bad bounce. A no call on some strikes on the walk. Seen those balls blocked many times by our catcher on the WP. She was trying to keep it low and induce a grounder and possible DP.
Duke 3rd baseman made a heck of a play that may have been a double for us.
The only thing I'd done was load the bases and try to get the force at home. They may have thought it was a good chance at a k on the Duke player, don't know. Then in bottom 6, it was the first time I've seen us nervous all year. Every batter went up with the intention of tying the game with a homer. The only thing I can fault them for.
Just wasn't our day. We're a good team with a generational phenom in Val. I hope we can make it to OKC. When you watch the super regionals, you'll see some unbelievable talent in lineups. We're not there yet. We have some gritty gals but not like some teams, namely OKC. No offense to the snowflake PC crowd but OKC has a team loaded with girls who were bred to play softball. Their team looks like men with wigs.
I have no doubt with S & C , next year we'll be a more powerful hitting team.

I guess we will never know for sure. But what I do know, Cagle is a super athlete, but she is also human. I personally believe that asking, or expecting her to throw 300 plus pitches in three straight games, in three straight days in a row is asking to much from any human.

I think that line shot off of her left thigh affected how she pitched. Our hitting was bad but we were trying to tie it up with one shot. I did not see many level swings the whole game. I just hope they do not put us too far away from home. Maybe somewhere were the crowd restrictions are no longer in effect.
