USC 5 star QB commit

USC (the real one) just got a commitment from 2020 5 star QB Bryce Young. That combined with the timing of the CB for DJ to us this week has me thinking we’re in a very good position for him.

I’m officially putting my Crystal Ball in for DJ to Clemson despite never being approached about a crystal ball or anyone at 247 having any clue of my existence.

I think Oregon is our toughest competition for DJ.. He said in an interview a few days ago that Us and Oregon were the two showing the most love.. While he said he had interest in USC, they apparently never really went after him that hard.. I think he would be a Tiger tho if he had to chose today..

But USC doesn’t let many big time QB’s get out of the state if they want them. Still have to beat out Oregon but we should have a much better year than them on the field.

This is good news. I know he stated it was us and Oregon but I always thought USC was tougher competition. A first year head coach at Oregon vs Dabo and Clemson and I like our chances. Thought S.C. may get in but this should help us.

DJ stated he wasn't going to USC, he said it's between Clemson and Oregon and Oregon is losing their QB this year most likely in the first round too. From what I hear he's been raving about Clemson every since his visit.

Them losing Herbert this year doesn't mean much

since there will still be another year before he would get to college. If he came here his freshman year would be Trevor's junior year and if Lawrence (hopefully) does well enough to leave early, it puts him in a good spot to take over, but it does put Taisun Phommachanh in a tough spot.

Oregon may not even be the biggest obstacle to landing DJ. Baseball may be the biggest obstacle.

but just need to roll with the punches. It's not like missing a 5* QB to baseball is the worst thing possible. Lets not forget that we have Taisun Phommachanh committed, so we've got talent already locked in.
