UGA has won 13 SEC titles

Aug 9, 2021, 9:43 PM

while Clemson has won 20 ACC titles. UGA also had the luxury of Steve Spurrier having only coached in their division for 1/3rd of the modern Era, where Clemson had to contend with Bobby Bowden and Paul Johnson for most of it. It just goes to show that some programs will always underperform, regardless of the competition, while others rise to the challenge. This is why any argument about Georgia playing in the SEC falls on deaf ears with me, especially when their conference played host to bottom feeders like Hal Mumme, Derek Dooley, Joker Phillips, Ron Zook, Houston Nutt, Woody Widenhofer, Brad Scott, Mike DuBose, Bill Curry, Gerry DiNardo, Butch Jones, Ed Orgeron, Lou Holtz, Gene Chizik, and Will Muschamp during the entire period since UGA won its first and only national title. They had their opportunities to make a run and squandered them. This is the main reason why they can not be mentioned in the conversation when talking about the elite programs in college football.

Drop The Mic! @Tigerbalm1®

**Georgia fans like to count their "on paper" championships and put them toward the imaginary number in their heads!
**They have won more games - but look at the folks they have had to face for Petes-sake as mentioned.
***Looking up the series history the 1st thing that strikes me is how many games were played in either Athens or Augusta. Good Lowered.
****I will give them this much = they have basically done often what they should have done- "hold serve"! Especially when football was just about who had the biggest players to put on their OL and DL. Georgia is a much larger state than SC and you only have the two major programs in GA. UGA and Tech. South Carolina is about half the size and has two P5 schools. When football recruiting was more border-bound in my opinion they just held serve and did what they should have been able to do. Unlike say, North Carolina! Both states are currently about double that of SC and was more than likely even more than that back in the day. So, for the GA folks who want to point to that, more power to you. But, it's meaningless. About as meaningless as a Hurricanes fan holding up, "The U" as if somebody cares! That's mostly referencing a time that's well gone and is never coming back!
All that said, "Georgia might be able to get the Tigers. On paper they have the skill to do so"! But, this isn't the same scenario as back in the day! These Tigers will have more teeth in which to punch back with! And, as much skill as the Athens, Georgia university crowd.

You mean the team that since 2000 has the 2nd most national championships in football, only trailing Bama and all 3 are with different coaches....that school! Clemson started being dominant in 2015 lets drop this narrative that they are the New England Patriots. Also just a little fun fact for all the SEC lovers on this board, in the recent Tokyo Olympics if the SEC were a country they would have had the most gold medals with a count of 42...maybe it does just mean more. Flame away!

Re: UGA has won 13 SEC titles

Aug 11, 2021, 11:50 AM

Ya’ll did have a terrific year last year and I doubt the purchased trophy of 19 will be taken away. Let’s go ahead and snuff the narrative that LSU is or has been consistency relevant in the modern era of the college playoffs which you conveniently baked in an extra 14 years. Also, how is not being able to retain a coach a flex as it relates to sanctions due to bribery, assault, sexual assault, armed battery and conspiracy? I guess you couyons really do believe it just means more… Fianlly, I’m embarrassed for you pumping the SEC in the Olympics. First, nobody cares. Second, coots invented coattails of the SEC, but here lies proof of the brand of dooshery yet further we knew about the LSU fanbase. Congerts Bayou Billy.

Re: UGA has won 13 SEC titles

Aug 11, 2021, 12:08 PM

Purchased trophy, yeah if that helps you sleep better at night buddy! I love how Clemson doesn't mind taking transfers in any other sport but football but puffs it's chest out about it in football. I whole heartedly commend Dabo for being able to get it done without hitting the portal because in todays football that's a tall ask but just because he doesn't use it doesn't mean other teams shouldn't use the system in place.

Yeah not being able to retain a coach is the same thing as a coach leaving for the NFL or a coach being fired. What it does prove is in the most recent of times LSU isn't dependent or only relevant by a certain coach. I wonder if Clemson will be able to say the same.

Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house...isn't that the saying because if I'm not mistaken Clemson has been sanctioned more than LSU. Wasn't Clemson feared to get the SMU type death penalty in the 80's.

No one cares about the Olympics huh, what a Clemson like stance to take. Just like reading over and over that no one cares about recruiting rankings or stars then to have topics started wondering why Cade Klubnik isn't rated above Ewers or how such and such isn't near Clemson's recruiting ranking. Whatever works for the narrative at the time.

Re: UGA has won 13 SEC titles

Aug 11, 2021, 12:49 PM

So you need to go back 40 plus years to try and rationalize how scummy your program is? With multiple coaches, as you pointed out. Weak…

Will Clemson sustain greatness without Dabo? Don’t know. Nobody does. He still coaches at Clemson, ergo irrelevant.

Where did I mention anything about recruiting or transfers? Seems like you are losing focus or aren’t great at reading comprehension. probably both. You probably aren’t even corndog U alum, lol!

No, nobody cares about the olympics. Especially not on a Football message bored, ya donut.

Re: UGA has won 13 SEC titles

Aug 11, 2021, 5:57 PM

It's all in the wording I suppose because it could also be phrased as I only had to go back 40 years to prove that your program has a history of being more "scummy" (obviously a thesaurus word) than mine.

The Clemson without Dabo reference was merely used to highlight that Clemson hopefully can achieve what LSU has which is relevancy across multiple coaches. Anyone can hit once, most face that adversity once trying to move on from a successful coach.

You mentioned a "Purchased Trophy" and we can both act naive to the often used buzz words on Tigernet but it has been mentioned time after time that LSU bought the 2019 season with transfer players and we all know that only means Joe Burrow. Funny no one seemed to mention him before the 2019 season...hindsight is often enlightening.

Corndog U, classic regurgitation of a weak troll attempt but the ace of being called a donut or Bayou Billy kind of gave it away that I wouldn't get a great original zinger at least not in this conversation! I went to LSU, paid off my late wife's tuition at LSU and hopefully that's where my seven year old daughter decides to go.

Someone should tell the people who talk baseball and basketball that this is a football message board then chief.

How about we play it this way, I will wait till you point out something I have made up, been wrong about, or lied about...I'll wait!

Re: UGA has won 13 SEC titles

Aug 11, 2021, 6:29 PM

No, it’s not wording corndog, it’s time. Times have changed and even though Clemson technically has as many NC’s as the corndogs do in the present tense (not before Woodstock), I’ll spot you our 81 and say the corndogs are one up. Congrats though not sure how your fanbase sleeps at night with the implications of what went on to get it let alone brag about it. Hey, you beat the brakes off us that night. We have been very, very complimentary to that end. It’s only when you corndogs arrive with your insecurity and arrogance that I enjoy trolling you.

We have multiple NC’s with more than one coach. HTH. Speaking of moving on from coaches. Who will LSU move on to when O is forced out for his role in the rape coverups?

No, in no way have I ever suggested or even heard it had to do with transfer players. I’m talking specifically about the lack of credibility and factual evidence found leading to infractions by the LSU program. How long do you suspect it will take to uncover even more than is known already?

Zinger or not, your fanbase are corndogs. Nasty, greasy and arrogant. Sorry. Also, I don’t care if you went to LSU. It was a loaded question being I don’t know what is more pathetic, picking LSU to root for or actually paying for an education from there. Probably the latter.

What does what a bunch of morans that poast in the wrong forum have to do with me chief corndog?

Congrats on your daughter. I’m sure some day you will have some corndog mini’s running around.

Serious question, what do you guys finish this year? I’ll be generous with an even more generous schedule and say 7-5.
