I actually had the same thought about this last night. Of course the Tobacco Road bullies would not let that happen now.

They add no value, only football adds value. Just ask the SEC and BIG.

^This. Hoops titles are completely irrelevant to expansion.

As such, adding uconn would be beyond stupid. Baffles me some of you still dont get this..... expansion is about FOOTBALL!

I'm pretty sure Football Revenue is/was the driving force behind conference expansion.
John Swofford may have missed that memo, but the SEC, and BIG sure didn't.
UCONN was, and always will be a BASKETBALL school.

How did he miss the memo? He added Miami and Virginia Tech, which were big name football programs at the time. Pitt, Syracuse, Boston College, and Louisville were most established football programs available.
I don't know what else you wanted. Okkamona, Texas, Penn St. , Southern Cal, etc. we're never going to cone here.

Where the wind chill at first pitch was 36 degrees; I'm not looking for more northern teams to add to our league. Obviously UConn is elite in basketball; they suck eggs at everything else including football.

Please Heck NO. All the ACC needs is another Northeastern school that only cares about basketball.

The ACC doesn’t need another basketball school in the league. Football is King in college sports. It’s draws in the largest crowds and makes the most money. The ACC desperately needs another powerhouse in football or the landscape of the sport may look very different. Clemson and FSU aren’t going to wait around forever.

We can trade them for BC and that would be a win. I would also trade them for Nancy St for obvious reasons. Otherwise adding them would be a net loss as they generally suck except for basketball.

That is exactly what many people say about adding a new team that isn’t a football powerhouse.

Make a valid argument how football doesn’t pay the bills for the other sports. I watch Clemson football, basketball, baseball, and now, softball on a regular basis. Been doing this every season for close to 20 years. Love that basketball and baseball allows for more games to be played as I love watching them all. However, I understand what pays the bills and watched the evolution of Clemson football from good, to great, to elite. Some could argue that we dropped back into the “great” category the last two seasons. Nevertheless, Swinney gets what he wants because he built it! Had ole Brownell taken us to the promised land others may feel different. He hasn’t and never will. Pull for other sports like a good Clemson fan should do, but don’t mock the supporters of football because they understand priorities.

Yes - if you want to prove that the adage “those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it” true then by all means let’s invite another basketball school into the conference.

If we were to split the ACC's football programs into divisions with the highly committed in one and softly committed in the other, and paid out media revenue accordingly, and mixed the rest of the sports evenly, then UConn would make a nice addition to the softly committed football division and the other sports.

NO no no... You add them right now.. the TV payout per school would go DOWN by millions because they dont bring numbers in football. Notre Dame full time or some other miraculous move like Penn St, OkSt or similar would be the only thing that would increase revenue.
