He’s military and met her in Thailand while he was stationed in Japan

It was cold outside and they were cool enough to have a 3 minute ceremony

Nobody really drank

One dude said surprise me and I made him a bourbon and ginger. He said no dice and went with white wine. He says he doesn’t drink much, but probably drank a whole bottle of white

There was cheesecake for dessert that looked really good

Groom was counting down the minutes until it ended at 8:30. Then they proceeded to stay until 9. We were cleaning and all around them

Pretty uneventful until a knocked over a table full of liquor and wine. Shattered a bottle of Tito’s. My shirt was on the table and could probably make a Molotov cocktail

Saw my share of young troopers marrying "locals"...

Back in the early '90s I had a young Cajun soldier (his name was Cramer) that went to Korea and married one of those Korean "dancing" girls. He was a slovenly kid so I imagine this Korean gal was his "first" if you know what I mean. Anyway, Cramer brought her back to the States (land of the big PX) and while we were at Fort Campbell she would come to unit functions with him. A lot of times Cramer treated her like dirt - called her "bucket head" and worse... He would threaten to send her back to Korea and say all kinds of other mean things to her. Sometimes Cramer wouldn't even bother telling her when we were going to the field and after a week or so of him not showing up at home she would come to our garrison HQ asking if anyone had seen him. Ultimately I'd get contacted in the field by my boss and would have to send Cramer back to garrison to let her know he was still alive.

So with this background, you can understand why we all took some pleasure when Cramer showed up to work one morning with a black eye and a lump on his forehead. Turns out Cramer had called her "bucket head" one time too many and she let him have it with a pot and pan. That little Korean gal beat his a$$ to where he was black and blue all over. I ultimately don't know what happened to those two because I kicked Cramer out of the Army shortly after she gave him that attitude adjustment. I can only imagine that she finally divorced him once her citizenship papers came through...
