Troy Stellato

Sep 28, 2021, 11:56 AM

I know we have many other major concerns offensively, but what is the story on Stellato? I was looking forward to seeing him on the field early in his career as I was impressed with what I saw in his HS film.

He was hurt during most of training camp & he came in during the summer. I would think he is still learning the offense.

He wouldn’t be much help unless we passed the ball to him. We have WR’s getting open, & we have Justin Ross...

Thanks for the info. I was hoping to see him emerge in the slot so JR could move back outside. I just like the idea of having a quicker/shiftier guy in the slot.

Goon, there was a pretty good discussion a couple weeks back. Tried to search for it but wasn't digging through the garbage.

Anyway, they were saying Taylor is more the fit for slot that Stellato fwiw. I was thinking the same thing but I guess time will tell.

Per folks who seem to know "Taylor has not proven in practice he can handle the slot position."

Exactly what I heard. Also the middle of the field can be a nasty place. Stellato is built for that position.

Also said Mafah would redshirt. That did not age well and to be honest Mafah looked more impressive than Ship. Now that could be contributed to better oline play in this game.

Hoping Shipley recovers well and we get Thunder and Lightning 2.0.
