Lawrence seems more than comfortable taking snaps from under center (never felt that way about Bryant). Short Yardage or Goal-line situations we dont need the Jumbo Package, we dont need the Shotgun, we just need to line up with 44 (who's absolutely blowing people up) in front of 9 (who the first tackler never brings down). Also opens up play action to TEs Galloway / Richard (that's worked so well with TL), as well as the isolated Fade pattern to Higgins or Ross

I notice once Richrd got in where Williams normally goes he had some solid blocks.

But I do think he could have gotten the required yardage if he'd stayed inside, though the run probably wouldn't have been as big. Nice to know we have the options.

I’ve said it before and many of you have agreed that we missed G Williams more last year than we thought we would. He’s a valuable addition to the offense. Hopefully before years ends he can catch a TD pass!

Yes and this sets up playaction so well. I loved seeing TL on a naked bootleg a couple of times. He throws so well on the run, going either way. And his keep early in the game on the read-option was really good too. So much potential for this offense due to TL's skillset.

Im ready to ditch the jumbo package. Its one of those plays thats cute when it works but it either gets blown up or we get a penalty probably 50% of the time.
Line up I formation with your best run blockers and hand it to Etienne

especially in goal line situations. The problem is when they get fancy with it. Just line up under center, snap the ball, and blow someone up. If they stop it, they stop it. Then they have to go 99 yards against our D.
Quit using motion and trick snaps, that would be the “finesse” Desmond mentioned. Knock someone on their butt and run over them!
If they get fancy with it at least let Big Dex run it in

We've been using Williams as an H-back much more than we have with any of our other recent TE's in the Morris-SCElliott era. I'm not a huge fan of an offense that uses the I-form as it's bread and butter to coin a phrase, but it can be useful in certain situations.
If we are just looking to utilize a lead blocker then Williams at H-back works just fine for most plays and also provides a little bit more versatility as a formation overall. The I does work the best when running a HB dive when you're trying to only get 1-2 yards. I think it's best to mix it up though and only use the I sparingly in those situations so we don't become too predictable.

It seems like we've been much more multiple with our offensive alignments this year than in the past. Back in 2015-2016 it was nice to have 5 skill players that could stay on the field consistently when we wanted to go up=tempo, but it seemed like we rarely got out of our traditionall 11 personal with 1 RB and 1 TE. Leggett and Gallman would sometimes split out wide pre-snap.
We've been able to run a lot of H-back and even some I-form this year now that we have Garrett Williams back healthy. It's also cool to see plays when we get Higgins and Ross on the field together since they are both prototypical boundary WR's with great size.
I know that the opinions of Chad Morris' offense vs SCElliott's offense are mixed, but one thing that is undeniable is that we used a lot more variety of formations under Morris. There's nothing wrong with using the same personnel groupings for the majority of the plays especially when they are working, but it's nice to know that we have so much versatility in our offense in order to make our offense more difficult to prepare for and to vary our tendencies.
