Top 3 commits you wanted the most

Dec 15, 2015, 1:28 AM

Not necessarily the best recruit, just the three you wanted most during the process.

For me it was...

1. Tajh
2. Big Dex
3. Jamie Harper ( Kinda funny to look back on this now )

My Top 3 'wants'......

Dec 15, 2015, 3:56 AM

1. OL Will Lawrence- 6-4 280 Memphis, TN Class of 2018
Folks, you won't find a nicer young man, tremendous competitor or nicer Christian family, I kid you not. Charitable people who have adopted a young child from China with cerebral palsy and autism. Simply amazing people. Will is also a fantastic lineman who started as an 8th grader. Very similar to Mitch Hyatt in so many ways. Read all about him here and you'll concur, I promise:
http://www.tigernet.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=1461310

2. RB Zamir White- 6-0 205 Laurinburg, NCClass of 2018
Not sure what to say about him without sounding over-the-top. Simply put he is just stellar and has an elite skill set for such a young prospect with that size. White had 2,145 rushing yards and 43 TDs on the year. He was named Player of the Year. 11 of the 12 games he played in this year he had 100 or more rushing yards. The one game he didn't was due to his coach pulling him from the game to prevent them from running up the score; as they were up big at the half.

3. LB Rahshaun Shaq Smith- 6'3 235 Bradenton, FL Class of 2016
Ain't nothing better than a big, punishing linebacker and Shaq Smith could follow in the footsteps of Jeff Davis, Spencer Shuey, Stephone Anthony, Keith Adams, Anthony Simmons, Ty Hill, and well its a very long list. Some of the film that is put out there on him certainly would imply that he could be the next guy to fit that mold. He was born in a troublesome part of Baltimore and he's got that chip on his shoulder which is reflected in his style of play. Once they coach him up to quit studder-stepping/ hesitating and lower his pads while bringing the boom.... what out!

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Ty Hill was a CB, you might be thinking of Leroy Hill.

I agree with your list, I want Rahshaun Smith bad, but agree we definitely need to keep getting those top OL recruits. There's only a handful of linemen each year that can come in and start immediately. Watching Hyatt has been unbelievable when I think about our offensive line in the past. I'm not as old as some on here (26), but I've never seen a Clemson OL as good as the one this year, and I think next year has a good chance to be better.

As far as misses, Gurley and Montravius Adams hurt the most.

My favorite from the past have to include CJ, Tony Steward, Sammy, Daquan Bowers and Mack Alexander

They're STILL working on giving him a job.

James Davis (That was the first class I really started following recruiting)

CJ Spiller (had to contain my excitement while in class)

Tony Steward (Really hate that injuries hit him so hard but his HS film was freakish)

Yea, same with me on JD. He was a close 4th on my list. Probably would have been at the top if he'd have committed in the social media age. There wasn't as much information out there back then as there is now. I've known Chris over at TigerIllustrated forever and he used to bring me copies of the magazine back then saying that this kid out of Georgia was special and if we got him, he'd be one of the best running backs we've ever had. Ever since then, I've been hooked on recruiting.

3 that were signing day guys that really come to mind

Dec 15, 2015, 12:05 PM

The flip of Antonio Clay from Oklahoma was huge. He would've been a great one had he could've kept it together through tragedy.
The flip of Dwayne Allen from UGA was big and really ushered in an era of us finally fully using the TE position. (Should have happened with Ben Hall, but that is another story.)
I know that more than just a few people were waiting for Geno's Mom to show up when Geno Hayes was making his announcement.
