According to 247 composite team rankings over the last 11 years Clemson has the 9th ranked recruiting ranking. We average 9th...right around where we will end up this season....
Only twice in that period have we had top 5 classes and 5 times we were inside the top 10....6 times we were outside the top 10...
We are right on par right now with what we have been over our 11 years as an elite college football program....DABO IS RECRUITING EXACTLY THE SAME....
Those classes have done very well for us...
As will this one.
Stop listening to the talking heads and falling for the CLEMSON RECRUITING IS DYING narrative....
Our recruiting is right on par with how Dabo has always recruited...

Yep, you're right. The coots are coming. Most of our best players from the last 3 cycles have left. This whole time we thought it was a recruiting problem, when it's actually been a developmental and coaching problem. Glad we got to enjoy the last decade.
All joking aside, one really could make the argument that several key coaches left and key positions groups haven't been as productive.

Fans that are complaining about our recruiting do not live in the real world and are the same ones that cry about calls by officials, want to fire the coach of the day every time we lose a game and blame the ACC and NCAA for every issue in their lives. Sad way to love life. Trust Dabo and his decisions.

It’s the “Chicken Little Syndrome, The Sky Is Falling.” When these 11th rank & better classes have won us 2 national titles in 4 years. To me, Dabo is still on par to lead us to another national title very soon…..

Actually, the last 2 cycles 2020 and 2021 brings our average way up. Those two are our best to date so far. So 2022 and 2023 should be our best on the field respectively. Not bad.

its so easy to complain, be a cynic and prophesy the end because we all know one day, it will be correct. But such cynicism never built a thing, never sustained a success and is rarely embraced by anyone who has built anything.

It doesn't mean the sky is falling or that we are doomed, but I would rather be comparing this class to the last four than to ones 7 to 9 years ago. We had understandable reasons for some things that went on, but most of our better recruits committed in the summer or before. We were limping to the finish line before the coaching carousel hit.
We have done well filling out this class, at least if we hit on one or more of Dudley, Story, or Paul, which I think that we will. That doesn't mean that we can continue to recruit at this level and be just fine, and that will be especially true if we have another down year on the field. Success breeds success.
This class is not doom and gloom like the naysayers want to make out, nor is it fantastic like the sunshine pumpers want to push. For us, this is a mediocre class, and not many here want to be mediocre.

“Mediocre for us” in not the same as “be(ing) mediocre.” And since “mediocre for us” is still pretty good and really more a product of recruiting cycles (in 2021 we had nearly double the underclassmen on the roster than at any point in 6 previous seasons - so there is only so much room for new recruits) it’s probably best for folks to resist to the urge to thrash and wail.

I think we need to look at each position group when we talk about how this recruiting class may affect us too.
The areas of need were WR, CB, and DE in my opinion.
I think we salvaged a good class at WR though we missed on our top target.
We took fallbacks at LB, RB, DE, and TE. Right now, only the DE room seems immediately concerning. But like you said, probably one year like this is no problem but we need to knock it out of the park especially at DE in 2023.
Call it complaining if you want. Just trying to look at this objectively.

Looking forward to watching the competition to start and get in the playing rotation at LB. There may be growing pains with Skalski gone, but the athleticism and speed should be off the charts.
The 2022 Defense will be excellent. The success of the 2022 season will be squarely on the QB and Offense.

If our coaches want them and they want to be here I'm fine with that. I greatly prefer it to those with little commitment to Clemson who drop you for the latest NIL gimmick at the iith hour.

Hard to believe you cannot see the difference between this class and previous classes.
No one is panicking but we can’t get caught with our pants down again. Need to cast a wider net meaning more legit offers so if we miss on the primary target we don’t fall down to a guy who should be a star at Furman

We are usually at the top in average star power this year we are around 3rd in the Acc so that is my concern.

Heaven help us, correct me if I am wrong-
2016 we had the 13th best class.
I believe between 2013 and 2016 we had 5- five start players
and Bama had over 18 5 star players. It is not the star rating that makes the team- it is how well the guys on the team play together. I would gladly take a 13th rank class for another Natty.

and to those complaining about this recruiting class.. you'd better get used to it. NIL is here to stay and we are going to have to settle for a mixture of four and some high three stars with maybe a five star or two. for the most part top 5 classes are out of the question.

We recruited our immediate needs which is wr and qb and a hell of a punter. Wish we had more quality depth all around but it's not the worst thing. People need to be realistic that we aren't the only great program in the nation and great players are making decisions based on NIL money.
