To all the Tnetters freaking out about our NIL (or lack of)

May 29, 2022, 1:59 PM

Just got a full breakdown on a few things from people involved. Our collectives are far ahead of where the public knows and have been operational for a while, the focus of our guys has been to KEEP our current players, not focus on recruits and enticements. We have been giving cars out to just about every player on the team with the focus of avoid transfers, Breese, Murphy, Mukuba, etc. We also have a lot more money invested and secured than most colleges out there, outside of Texas (including above Bama). One of the more interesting (and possibly problematic) issues is the collective contributors and organizers (alum and donors) are now recruiting fellow IPTAY members to reduce donations to IPTAY and just keep what they need for tickets, parking, etc, then give the rest to the collective. Should have some more info in the next few days but thought I would share what I got. Enjoy, and happy memorial day!

I have wondered about the IPTAY reduction in donations. Will be curious to see if IPTAY increases the donation level amounts for each bracket.

Thank you so much CT44. Not sure why our Clemson media hasn't given us a warm and fuzzy but I'll take it.

This should be POTD and perhaps post of the year. I feel better.

I think it’s a really smart approach

May 29, 2022, 3:53 PM

We had a few killer classes right before this thing dropped, and it lets us sit back and watch if there are any ramifications for using it in recruiting before our guys do. Remember these are all 100% separate and no affiliation with the school…. Also a lot of schools are only using it in recruiting and not taking care of their own once there, that will blow up in their faces soon, creating locker room rifts, etc. It is a big reason why Dabo has been able to brag about us losing no one to the portal since February. It’s the right and smart approach.

Genius..from Dabo to Sports Dept to Administration to Donors to..

maybe even IPTAY!

And better, possibly lil ole ClemPson is one of a few football programs who have built a new facility just to be in front with our "existing players" for the NIL & other modern issues arising.

IPTAY donors are being recruited by said "contributors and

organizers".

Riggs Level has 94 members and Heisman has 784 members.

If I haven't been contacted, is it safe to say that there are less than 878 "contributors and organizers" (1 for 1 match)? Or, they haven't got to my name yet because it's all brand new? And NIL is not brand new.

Or are they just focusing on 94 members?

I'm not saying what you say isn't true, but do these "collective contributors and organizers" have the money they need (for Breese, Murphy, Mukuba, etc.) and that they're not contacting any other donors? If the 94 Riggs Level people can take care of our NIL payroll, I'm okay with that.

Pleas keep us updated and thanks for sharing.

Happy Memorial Day to all and let's not forget the reason!

After reading this original post, I did some research. Is this the TigerImpact collective? If so, the group started with 5 million and focuses on current Clemson athletes. Look at tigerimpact.org.

Thanks for posting.

I was not sure how we stood on all of this. Glad to see we are using the NIL within what rules there are and being competitive with other top schools

surely they’d also be focused on recruits too by now.

IPTAY is now less relevant than NIL money. Players want to be paid

May 29, 2022, 9:03 PM

and IPTAY does not do that. NIL, not booster clubs, gets the Jimmys and Joes now. Its a d@mn mess

That is good to hear for now. We have to do what we have to do to not sink until the rules are updated(if they ever are). If ATM and Miami etc are not going to be punished we have to get in the game and hopefully in a more responsible and smarter way.

Nothing in this post wasn't covered in the TigerImpact launch press conference in early April. 12 players involved. It's honestly kinda sad to see all the complaining on TNet about NIL, and not one post about TigerImpact.org. In fact, they haven't even been covered in anything i've seen media wise or otherwise.

But no more complaining about NIL though, because Clemson has the same program as others. It's time to get the checkbook out and start making donations, or swap it from IPTAY. We're literally crowdfunding to keep our players. Sad...

IMO, this isn't sustainable long term. Eventually everyone, including the big time donors, are going to stop "funding" college football. Because the schools, players, NCAA, and tv networks are the only ones making money while the fans and alumni keep paying money? Not sustainable. The FedGov needs to step in and just make the revenue generating sports profit sharing so we can get back to true college athletics.

Btw, don't forget to thank California and their consistently failed, far left policies that created this. Funny how Lincoln Riley left OKLAHOMA in the middle of the night for busted USC. Riley knew they were going to buy players for the next era of CFB, and it's all played out now. What a snake. lol

May 31, 2022, 7:35 AM

I agree with most of that, but Clemson doesn't have the same program as all of the others as you stated. Some programs have wealthier alumni who can throw more cash around. Miami had some billionaire just give a college basketball transfer 800k and car to transfer there for 2 years. Some programs are worse off. All programs aren't on the same level playing field though. That said, I believe we will be just fine and they will figure it all out.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This is very short-sighted. Does Clemson have a parking deck

May 31, 2022, 8:03 AM

big enough for all of these new cars?

Obvious answer - no. It's disturbing to me that The Collective hasn't thought through even the simplest details.
