Travis is going to be a great NFL all purpose player! He has the ability to take his game to an even higher level!

I'm surprised they would say Travis had been run a lot during his career. Sure, he stayed 4 years, but he only had about 15 touches per game.

Yup. We spread the ball around a lot, and didn’t complete a lot of games with our starters. That was a very lazy take by someone who just looked and saw he had starts all 4 years. I also want to say he wasn’t “the guy” in ‘17. Had some bursts, but we had feaster and others ahead of him.

Amazes me how some of the "experts" are lazy.

All those carries????? He averaged 14 touches ( rec and car) Bounces everything outside.???? ETN was #1 in the country yards after contact. The majority of that contact was inside not outside. There were a lot of times where 8f he did bounce outside, there was no contact because he took it to the house. This guy didn't say it but I've heard some question his vision. Blows my mind. You don't score 78 TDs and average over 7 yards a carry over a 4 year career and lack vision. Anticipating contact and countering at the crucial moment is part of that vision. How many guys did he make look stupid with a spin or draw a defender close stutter stepping, them thinking he is near top speed, and BAM, turns on his rocket boosters and leaves them feeling butt raped.

Was this the same "expert" that said Chase Young had his way with Jackson Carmen in the 2019 Fiesta Bowl. Carmen ate Youngs lunch all day. Young had 1, yes one, uno, ein, tackle, no TFL no Sacks.

In Buffalo there's a split between the guys who want to draft Travis in the first round and those who refuse to bend from the "taking a RB in the first round is not good value". Taking a RB in the first round is a good value when you are a conference championship caliber team and he fits the one hole you have on your offense -- a pass catching back who is also a better runner than anyone on your team. Who doesn't want a back who can take it to the house on any given play from anywhere on the field? There are what, 5 or 6 of those guys in the NFL at any time.

Travis would be a perfect fit in Buffalo, where they know they are going to have to outscore the Chiefs to win a conference championship. And it would be good for Travis -- a great young quarterback, top receivers, excellent offensive line, creative offensive coordinator, head coach whose players love him.

And I say this knowing that some Clemson standouts have had bad experiences in Buffalo. The current coaching staff, front office and owners are a far cry from what Spiller and Watkins had to deal with.

Pass protection questions?

Apr 16, 2021, 9:47 AM

I hadn't really heard anyone question TE's pass protection after, say, his sophomore year. He was reliable in that regard as far as I can recall.
