Dabo is a brilliant coach but coaches do not leave because of recruiting deadlines. Coaches get fired because they don't recruit and lose games.

I think he was trying to say that coaches get fired during the season because the school has to hire another coach to save the recruiting class.

So, the coaches who leave one school to go to a school that fired a coach do so earlier. So, coaches do leave schools earlier than they did before early signing day.

Please have them sit a year if they transfer. Isn’t that the way it used to be anyway?

The obligation should go both for the school and the players. If a player transfers before three years they sit. Also a school should not be able to cut a scholarship for any reason other than clearly defined disciplinary reasons. No more culling the herd to make room for over signing just because you missed on a prospect. This should stop sleazy coaches from using these kids. Also the players should be made to stop and think before they sign with a school or transfer. Their housing, meals and education are being paid for. 99% of college students would love to be in their type of situation instead of being loaded with debt coming out of school.
